Stayed one night. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Restaurant food was hot, tasty and well cooked. Whilst decor was somewhat dated the hotel had a certain Victorian elegance about it. No air conditioning, which made the room warm for us - with little ventilation from the window. Bedsheets and bathroom were spotless. The mattress could do with updating. Overall OK.

Hotel was easy to find and reception very helpful regarding parking etc.
Room was a double even though I booked a single so very pleased. It was also quite roomy and clean.
WIFI worked no problems as did shower. I had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was very good, both in quality and the speed produced.
Hotels position to the seafront is excellent and I had a most enjoyable walk to the Hard ( although it was great weather ) I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stop again.

Very comfortable hotel with many facilities. Freshly cooked breakfast.
Hotel difficult to find as tucked down a side street.
Difficulty in operating "new-fangled" shower due to lack of instructions.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The one downside for us was the price - felt that was over the top. We only took the price as we were very late in booking and very little else available.
Overall I would recommend the hotel - for those with big credit cards.

Visited for our daughters graduation so was only there one night however owner made us feel really welcome. Hotel is tucked away so fairly quiet yet is only a couple of streets from the sea front. Room was spacious and well decorated and the bed was really comfortable.

First initial impression was the friendly owner who introduced us to the area, the building, rooms, etc. She made us feel right at home and was very welcoming. We were given the opportunity to ask questions etc. Free wifi was nice. We booked incredibly last minute and were happy that it was not a problem. Cheap and cheerful if you are needing somewhere to sleep in the Portsmouth and Southsea area!

Southsea is Portsmouth’s Victorian seafront; it offers a swimming complex, two distinct shopping districts, and plenty of open green spaces, including the expansive Southsea Common. Southsea Castle, built by Henry VIII in 1544, defended the coast from invaders during multiple wars, and features underground tunnels and a towering lighthouse.
