I was looking around for a hotel in Portsmouth as I had a last minute meeting at the Naval Base and all the usual hotels by Gun Wharf had sold out of cheaper rooms and were charging £200 for the night. I came across Queens Classic Hotel by chance and booked it up. The hotel itself is only a short cab ride from the station and will cost you around £5 (as of 2013). You can walk to the hotel as well. The building could do with a slight touch up on the outside but the inside is fantastic. The hotel staff were all polite and the room was spacious. The bed was really comforatble. Breakfast was good, a mix of continental and English Breakfast.

We stayed for 1 Sunday night in August 2014. We arrived very early (well before checkin) and were warmly welcomed and offered breakfast, tea/coffee etc. We declined breakfast but were provided teas and coffees, plus use of lounges and toilets at no cost. The rooms we were given were lovely, though we spent most of the day and night at the Victorious festival. The beds did seem especially comfortable after about 14 hours on our feet! Breakfast the next day was very good and after checkout we were offered to keep hotel parking permit while we had a walk along the beach and some lunch. All in all a very pleasant experience and great advert for independent friendly hotels

The B&B was so well located - better than I ever could have imagined. The owners were very friendly and helpful, sharing advice on where to go and what to do.
The breakfast was one of the best I've had.
