“Airport Convience”

For Convience to Athens airport this hotel gets A+. You literally walk across the street to get to it - 2 minutes tops even for a slow walker. I don't have any negative for the hotel.

“Awesome experience!”

The best choice I made for my trip was staying at this hotel! The Euro crisis was not a factor when I booked my trip, however, it impacted my trip greatly. The hotel was great, staff so very nice and the convenience was the greatest factor. I stay there two different dates while on my trip, both times were fabulous. Should I return again I will book this hotel!

“Convenient in the extreme!”

Beautiful, well-appointed hotel, right across the street from the airport! I've stayed at a number of airport hotels, but none provide such easy access (literally walk across the street from Exit 3, no shuttle bus needed!). The train station is also right there, so if you have time to get into Athens (I didn't- I was only there for about 15 hours), it looked like it would be very easy. If I'm back in Athens for a longer stay, I'd still seriously consider staying at the Sofitel. Really nice bathrooms, by the way!

“if you need to take an early flight out of Athens, stay here”

The staff were extremely helpful and upgraded our room. For dinner, we just crossed the road to the airport and chose from the numerous restaurants there. I would definitely stay there again.

“Airport convenience”

I like to stay here when I have a one day lay over in Athens. The hotel is located across the street from the Athens airport but is only a 5 minute walk from the subway that takes you downtown to the Parthenon, Plaka, and Syntagma Square in 30 - 45 minutes. I can spend the day downtown and then get a good night's sleep at the hotel before I head out early the next morning.

“Convenience worth the price”

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to the airport. We flew in one day and flew out the next and did not want to commute into Athens. You literally walk across the street from the exit door at the airport to the lobby of the Sofitel. The staff was very friendly and did everything in theri power to make you feel welcome. There were two things that were suprising about the room, there was one small drawer for clothes in the closet and the grout in the bathroom was dirty. Having said that, the room was totally sound proof and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. I could not imagine staying here if you had business or leasure activities in Athens.

“Beautiful and convenient”

“Most convenient for early morning travel!”

The rooms were clean and the hotel very conveniently located to the airport. The only negatives were that the hallway carpets looked worn and none too clean and the air also smelled heavily of smoke though we did have a non smoking room.

Area recommendations

It depends on if you need night time trainsportation. The trains stop at midnight so if you have an early morning flight this hotel is ideal. If not I would prefer to be in the Plaka area.

Getting around

We returned to Athens from a cruise during the transportation strike so being located at this hotel was the best decision we made in advance as it is located right across the street from the airport..

“You can walk to the Athens airport.”

You can walk to the Athens airport. Allow fro a 15 minute walk from your hotel room to the airport check-in line. Hotel to downtown Athens in 45 minutes by metro for about 12 USD round trip.
