Avoid this apartmentPosted Sep 16, 2010
Don't stay here! We arrived for our 3 night stay and there was no one there. We asked in the restaurant next door but nothing. We then phoned the owner and and were told that she was expecting us (we had booked two months previously) but our apartment was not available. She told us we could stay in the studio downstairs for the first night and the move to the apartment the next day, and she would be with us in 10 minutes - we were not happy but thought we could discuss it when she arrived. A waiter from the next door restaurant then appeared with the key to the studio - he didn't speak any English and all I could understand of what he said was "10 minutes". We went into the studio and waited and then received a text message saying some one would be along to make the bed soon. The studio is very small, really just one small room, and it is at ground level so you can't even open the windows. It is not what we booked and wasn't even ready! We were very unhappy so called the owner again (no sign of her coming to meet us as promised) and then she offered us a discount. We explained we weren't happy because it was not what we had booked and we did not want the inconvenience of moving rooms. After much faffing around we found somewhere else to stay and were very glad to leave this place and the nasty experience behind. At first I thought we had just been unfortunate, but TripAdvisor reveals others have experienced the same thing - I don't know if it is a scam or not - but be warned!
