Nice hotel, walking distance to the center

Older but well maintained hotel with convenient location. Free parking and great buffet breakfast were additional bonuses.

Not a peaceful stay

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Historic building near beach.
Cons: Stop private functions on the terrace area! Update bathroom fittings - looking rather shabby.
Location: Beach very close. 10 minute walk to historic monuments in old town and ferries to other islands. Can also get bus to Salona Roman Town.
We stayed for 4 nights and on the second night there was a wedding party which went on until the early house of the morning and included live music. We were given one set of ear plugs and four sweets to compensate us for lack of sleep! Whilst we could have put up with this as an unfortunate coincidence, on the fourth night there was yet another private function with live music and PA announcements until virtually midnight. Half of the hotel rooms overlook the patio area where these events take place so if you want a good nights sleep don't risk booking this hotel. The staff were less than concerned about our inconvenience and we had to stand our ground for compensation.

Don't do it... location isn't everything.

Yes, the location may be great, but this place is a mistake. TINY rooms, even for Europe. Old and dirty inside, except for lobby - but who cares. Sea view costs more, but if there's a wedding out on the patio, prepare for no sleep. Music until 1am is unbearable. Tried to move to a room in the back of hotel - was just as loud. And no refund offered at all for the hours of inconvenience. Guess they make enough on weddings that they just don't care about the other guests.

Nice traditional hotel in beautiful setting

Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Location and the appearance of the hotel.
Cons: Attention to detail.
Location: Hey! This is Split! It's simply a marvelous place steeped in history. Also with beaches, restaurants, cafes.
The hotel was built in 1921. It has modern amenities, but it has been able to keep its character. The dining room and terrace are particularly nice. Sitting outside and lingering over breakfast was enjoyable. My single room was indeed "single" -- very small but o.k. Service was o.k. Staff was pleasant and accommodating when asked.

Old style hotel

Posted Jun 6, 2014
Pros: Food, wifi (that worked) and secure parking.
Cons: New bedroom furniture
Location: Close to the beach, easy walk into the Old City and the Harbour area. Lots of restaurants and bar within east walking distance.
Yes the bedroom furniture is a bit shabby but it had everything we needed, and two of our main priorities were decent wifi and secure parking. The staff are lovely and very helpful, and the food was absolutely wonderful.

Better Options Available

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Hotel Park has the potential to be a good place to stay. However, rooms need a bit of an update, some staff need training, breakfast needs to be improved and the hotel should NOT offer a triple room (unless the guests are comfortable with sleeping on top of one another). The location is also a bit of a walk from Old Town and dining options through an area that feels a little unsafe at night.

Older hotel with small rooms. Quick 10 minute walk to riva and diocletians palace. Expensive overall for the value. Clean and everything worked fine. Needs updating to modernize.

Nothing special.

Convenient walk to Diocletian's Palace and right by Bacvice beach, the good points are location, and free parking. The front desk staff was not particularly friendly but the housekeeper was. The room was basic with communist charm. Breakfast was cold even when right out of the kitchen. WiFi was poor but usable in the lobby.

Meh

Truly, the best way to describe our experience was "Meh". Apart from the perfect location next to Bacvice Beach, this hotel really has nothing more to offer. It's an average hotel. It feels run downed, the staff is average, not really interested in making you feel welcomed. It's all about the location and this is probably why they continue to receive business. They had events the 3 nights we stayed, which had live music till about midnight. This can get annoying after 3 nights straight. Overall, I would highly recommend not staying here as there are much better options just a mile or two away. The best choice for us was Authentic Luxury Rooms near the city center.trust me. They are the best!

hotel restaurant was very good

Posted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: food
Cons: make sure the room was as livable as possible
front desk reception was aloof, room had no air conditioning, only one light worked, there was no wifi in the room. The only experience that saved the stay was the dining in the hotle restaurant.
