“unique. enjoyed it very much. very interesting/inviting common spaces. have stayed here several time”
same as above
“Wonderful hotel.”
We weren't certain what to expect from a hotel that used to be a bordello, but it was only for one night and the reviews were good, why not? It turned out to be a great choice. Charming and elegant are the words that come to mind. If you go, be sure to visit the Catacombs Pub (I think that's how it's spelled) in the basement. Wonderful food and drink. Yes, we will go back.
“Mary”
The hotel is new and nice in most aspects. however, our room faced the alley and a bar and railroad track which wouldn't have been bad if the bathroom window would have closed completely. As a result, it was very, very noisy. Wouldn't recommend or stay there again.
“Who needs the davenport”
Great. Just wonderful
“Charming old Hotel”
Very nice and charming Hotel in a renovated circa 1899 building. Comfortable lounge areas, nice staff and comfortable but modest rooms. Not the best part of town. A window in the space next door was broken out the night I stayed there, need to valet park your car.
“Old time Spokane”
Wonderful hotel with old architecture. Great food. One window stuck (old wood frames) leaving a slight gap at the bottom allowing cold air in (got to 26 degrees that night) and one light bulb burnt out. The rooms are spacious, but there is an open central area on the 2nd and 3rd floors that would be great for family reunions or small business gatherings. In addition to the restaurant in the hotel, there are good ones within a few blocks walking distance.
“Stunning Character in Spokane”
You won't find another boutique hotel with this level of character and history in Spokane. Tall ceilings, large rooms, cozy couches and seating areas are all pluses. The charming restaurant, Catacombs, downstairs is one of a kind as well. If you're a light sleeper, the nearby railroad may bother you, so bring ear plugs.
“Great place to stay”
Thia was a great find. Very nice. the food in the resturant was good also.
“Very good if you enjoy the Spokane nightlife.”
The hotel was very historic and conveniently located. The only concerns we had was the squeaky floors from an active couple on the third floor above us and the amount of noise from the pub in the alley. They crash the bottles at the end of each night into their recycle carts which woke us up. The cleaning was very average and our soap and shampoo's were not replaced the whole week of our stay. The soap bars were the size of a quarter by the end of our stay. The attached restuarants were top notch!
“Nice urban hotel”
Montvale is a nice urban hotel at Spokane's west end of downtown. Quaint. Room was surprisingly roomy with good sized bathroom. Decent continental breakfast. Well priced.
