“Good Place”

A good place for those driving to Spokane the night before the flight. We ordered room with sitting area and ended up in a corner of building where it was quiet. Had a great night sleep even though the hotel is near the airport. Free breakfast was classic breakfast bar but more than I would eaten at home. If flight is super early you will miss breakfast bar since it opens at 6:00 am. Hope they consider starting breakfast earlier.

“Great Hotel Next to Spokane Airport”

The hotel is very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were professional and very helpful. It was a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, and the other items normally served with a continental breakfast. There was no noise from the airport, street, or other rooms. While the hotel provides a shuttle, which we used because my wife is recovering from foot surgery, it is only a five minute walk from the airport to the hotel. My wife and I got three wonderful nights sleep. This has become our first choice for future trips to visit our childern in Spokane.

“Nice Hotel, Good Price”

My stay at the Wingate was quite nice. It's a newer hotel and I was worried when I arrived because it seemed like the walls/floors were thin enough that noise from outside the room could be disturbing, but the guests were very quiet and noise wasn't an issue. The complimentary breakfast went a bit beyond the normal - they had fried eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy along with the regular cereal, etc. options. One night they even had cookies at the front desk - always love a place with cookies! The hotel is right at the airport but noise from Spokane International wasn't a problem - once you're inside, you don't even know you're near an airport. The property is about 10 minutes from downtown, easy to get there. Overall a good experience. My only issue is the same one I have with all the hotels in Spokane that I've stayed at, including The Davenport - very limited cable selection and no Comedy Central, which is a basic cable standard. Come on, Spokane, let's drag you into the 21st century!

Area recommendations

Downtown Spokane has a lovely mix of independent stores and chain retail shops. I recommend Boo Radley's for fun, off-the-wall gifts (think Archie McFee's), Atticus for a small but fine selection of coffee beans, River Front Park for it's beauty and user-friendliness, and a visit to The Chocolate Apothecary at The Flour Mill for, obviously, a good fix and large selection of chocolate heaven. Also, if you knit/crochet, check out Paradise Fibers (just a solid ten tons of yarn), A Grand Yarn (a relaxing and beautiful shop), and Sew E-Z.

“Excellent”

It would all be perfect except the pool was outdoors and the indoor spa has a really heavy chlorine/bleach smell, wish they'd put in a ventilation system or something for the fumes.

“Spent 2 nights while in Spokane”

We were upgraded to a suite when the were out of double queens at no extra charge which was fine but the 2nd bed was then a pull out sofa. we had to service our own room with towels and emptying trash a 3 pm because the housekeeping was apparently swamped and we had4 people and strarted out with only 2 bath towels...the airport shuttle was awesome though.

“Not impressed with internet”

Everything was great except the coffee in the room was like dirty water, and the internet was a joke. They advertise high speed but it took 45 mins of a techno girl on the phone to try and connect us. When she finally did the connection was so slow it was not worth using. I think this is false advertising. It is so simple to do a better job than this with the internet these days.
