“Not to Shabby”

As far as Holtels go, this one was not bad. The room key wouldnt work at first but the manager took care of it. The room was comfortable and over all clean. They provide cups, apn and silverware, with a full size fridge. The hotel was relatively quite with no traffic noise.

“Good choice in this area”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nites. As it is a suite hotel, it has a kitchen with frig, stove top and microwave. There is a laundry facility on the premises. Rooms have desk with internet service. There are some restaurants in the immediate area as well as a shopping center less than a mile away. A good choice for business people, families or anyone who doesn't want to eat out every meal.

“A consistent stay when you are at the Big E”

This is our third year coming back to the Candlewood when we do a show at the Big E. It is clean, the staff is kind and helpful. And the location is not too far away from the expo center. It will be my choice every year.

“not completely impressed”

Although the room was clean and well equiped for our stay, the walls, floors and ceilings were paper thin. Let's just say EVERYTHING going on above us could be heard! Although the pool was nice, the hot tub was not hot. And there weren't enough towels there.

“Decent, but nothing special.”

Everything was fine. The "suite" included a very nice kitchenette and if I had planned on cooking, it would have been very convenient. To save on costs, they only provide maid service every 5 days or if requested at the front desk. I usually don't require much maid service, so I felt that I had plenty of privacy. The entrance to the hotel was set on a "back road" to the highway which made it slightly less convenient to get in and out of. The water in the hot tub was far too cold which was very disappointing. Other than that, nothing special...good or bad.

Area recommendations

Downtown Springfield had far more restaurants and entertainment, but this hotel was a 5 minute drive from just about anything you could have wanted.

“I would stay again”

The only thing I was unhappy about was getting the smoking room. Otherwise the people at the front desk were very helpful with suggestions of where to go, and the directions, etc. I would stay again if we end up in the area. We liked the fact that there was a full size refrigerator and having the ability to cook if we wanted to. The room was clean and the pillow was comfortable.

“ok for families”

Room was nice, signed up for 2 queen beds, got 1 bed and 1 pull out, withough linens. Bathroom smelled like smoke. Nice kitchen area. Hot tub didn't work first few days, we drove further away from family to get hotel with hot tub. Had to get new linens daily, no housekeeping if staying less than 7 nights. Not far from many great dining options.

“A Good Choice”

I came to West Springfield to attend an annual show at the Eastern States Exhibition grounds that attracts 11,000 people per day. Needless to say, this causes the local lodging establishments to be extremely busy - in many cases sold out. I chose to stay at the Candlewood Suites because they seemed to have reasonable rooms available at reasonable rates. This proved to be the case. Like the Extended Stay America chain, this hotel does not include a restaurant, meeting rooms, or daily maid service. However, it does have a workout room, a pool, and a 24-hour front desk, and is thus a cut above Extended Stay America. It is a fairly new building, well-maintained, and had a helpful desk staff. I would definitely stay here again.

West Springfield is evidently okay, but Springfield has a high crime rate.

“Great hotel but...”

i would think a place that was twice the cost of the hotel I stayed at a week ago in the same area would be much better. I prefer the cheaper hotel, Comfort Suites, over Candlewood. And they need better front desk help for the overnight shift. However, the evening front desk help was EXCELLENT!

Kohl's down the road is HUGE! I spent hours in there.
