“Would definately stay there again.”

“Fine for the money”

We weren't looking for luxury on this trip ... just a clean, safe & comfortable place to sleep at night. This hotel fit the bill. The rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. Staff was friendly and professional. The indoor pool was nice and if you want to jog or walk, the Connecticut River walking path has a trail head right behind Wal-Mart. The continental breakfast was just that, but it worked in a pinch. I would definitely recommend EconoLodge Hadley if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to lay your head at night.

Area recommendations

Anywhere in Hadley/Amherst or Ludlow. Both seem like safe places with good access to the Mass Pike.

“convenient to UMass, shopping”

the hotel is right on route 9. a 10 minute drive onto UMass/Amherst campus. there is a shopping center right behind. good thing because my son ran out of socks. nice modern rooms, indoor swimming pool, free breakfast included, free wi-fi.

this is technically in hadley, but amherst is only a few minutes away. charming little town. see the mead art museum and archeology museum on the amherst college campus. short drive in the other direction to town of northampton. lots more shops and restaurants and smith college.

Be aware there is no mini fridge or microwave in your room. The mattress was much too soft for my liking but the room was clean and the staff polite.

“Clean, conveniently located, friendly and efficient service”

Location of hotel is excellent, right next to Whole Foods and near Trader Joe's, as well as a very short drive into the village of Amherst. Room was perfect - clean, comfortable beds, good shower, and very quiet all night long (and we stayed on a weekend). We called for extra pillows and they arrived in 5 minutes. In the morning, we walked to Whole Foods for coffee and a healthy breakfast. Overall, excellent experience for a good price.

Area recommendations

Villages of Amherst and Northampton for great restaurants and shops. Also, one our main goals was to hit Trader Joe's and Whole Foods since we don't have these where we live - great food shopping for those who love to cook.

Fresh Side Cafe in Amherst was fantastic! Affordable, healthy Pan-Asian cuisine with a good wine list.

“Convenient location and close to shops/groceries and highway.”

This is the second time i've stayed there and the hotel staff are usually very friendly and helpful. They changed our rooms when a nonsmoking room smelled like smoke and checked up on us after we checked in to see if there was anything else they could do. Parking is easy and best of all, its 10 minutes from I-91 and is close to Whole Foods Market and other retail stores and restaurants. With a good price, I'll stay there again!

“good location”

Stayed here while visiting our daughter at UMass. Great close location. This is right on route 9 where all the big stores are if you need anything. There's a Dunkin Donuts right next door if you don't want the continental breakfast at the hotel. Rooms were clean and modern. Indoor swimming pool was nice. No wi-fi, but they will lend you an ethernet cable if you need one. There's also a computer for guests usage in the lobby.

Area recommendations

the town has lots of restaurants. route 9 has all the usual chain restaurants. if you want to try something different, it's just a short drive to northampton.

“check the shower water when checking in-I didn't have hot water in shower”

Returning to the hotel after midnight to find no hot water at all in shower. Ran the water for 15 mins to no avail. Had to leave in early am. Hotel was fully booked. When I checked out front desk clerk said "you should have called us if there was a problem". I can't help you.
