Older hotel but GREAT STAFF

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Staff was VERY VERY accommodating and polite. Booked a single room with one king bed then learned we would have company for the night they happily changed our room to one with two queens without an additional charge. Plus they allowed us to check in two hours early. Only issue was the shower was not very pleasant as the shower head was broken and sprayed only out of one side. The free breakfast was not the largest I've had but it was well stocked and the hot food was hot.

Quiet and cool place to sleep.

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Location near I-55 and Route 10 was important. Room was quiet. Breakfast (Saturday morning) had sausage and eggs.
Cons: Literature states that all rooms have wireless internet. No information on how to access this.
Location: Less than 1/2 mile off Route I-55. Close to Logan County Fairgrounds, Russell Stover candy outlet, and WalMart.
Normally stay at Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn when traveling on business through Lincoln. I was told that area motels were booked this weekend due to hot air balloon activities. Room AC was set for 64 degrees when I arrived, and that was very pleasant when it was 88 degrees and very humid outside. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.

Run down

Seems like they started renovating and quit. Smelled like pickles. Tap broken in room. Door dirty.

Good Stay.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Pool, rate
We stayed here during our trip to the State Fair due to no hotels being available in Springfield. The distance to Springfield is manageable. Plenty of gas stations and fast food around, so that's convenient. The gentleman that was manning the desk at night could use an attitude adjustment, but the daytime staff was pleasant. The hotel itself is a little dilapidated, but they are fixing it up so it has some potential. The comforters on the bed had a few stains and the room had a bit of a musty smell to it. Overall, I'd stay here again. It was on budget and I didn't walk in and instantly want to leave.

Our shower had not been cleaned. Bed linens need replaced.(new ones purchased) Dont think you can get these clean anymore. Leaky showerhead and had to hold down toilet handle to flush. Breakfast was pretty good.Staff seemed ok altho hard to understand.

Great hotel but my kids found a pill bottle with pills in it from a previous visitor on the floor next to the bed. Should clean better to find this type of stuff and get out back to the owner.

Inexpensive motel near (1/2 hour) state fair

Posted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: Close to highway. Reasonable price. Free breakfast. Hot tub.
Cons: Everything just seemed to need a little touching up
Location: Illinois State Fair
We called ahead for late check in, which was good because by the time we arrived after the state fair concert there wouldn't have been rooms left. Everything was ok, but the place could use a little sprucing up. At 9 am they were out of pool towels, but gave us regular towels, the couple after us couldn't get any more towels at all. Free breakfast was ok, but they were starting to run out of items

Terrible hotel absolutely filthy and beat up.

Posted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Literally, everything. The hotel needs to be gutted and rebuilt. Dreadful.
Very disappointed. The hotel needs a complete remodel and scrub down. Everything was beat up, broken, stained and in general neglect. We were stuck here die to limited vacancies during State Fair. I will never stay there again. It was humid in the room and smelled very bad.

Was a great choice for my family.

Posted Apr 11, 2013
Pros: Warm pool, breakfast.
Cons: cigarette burn in our comforter (not that big of a deal)
Location: close to the highway, gas stations, stores, and restaurants.
stayed with my wife and 2 children. They loved the pool and spa, was very warm for a pool. Rooms were very clean, and ours had a nice flat panel TV in it, along with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. The breakfast was one of the best complimentary breakfasts that I've had. Would go to this hotel again. There were just a few little maintenance things that would have made me rate this 5 star on condition, but they were nothing serious. just little things like the caps on the toilet seat bracket were broke, and there were a few broken tiles in the pool room. Nothing someone handy couldn't fix in a day. Overall, Fantastic stay, Thankyou!
