Nice hotel with misleading info.
Posted Jan 9, 2013
Pros: The staff tried to accommodate our needs.
Cons: Get rid of the musty smell.
Location: The hotel is located near the downtown area which is near most of the main attractions.
The hotel was near many other hotels and restaurants. My main disappointment was that I felt misled in the breakfast area. We asked if they had a breakfast with the stay and were told "yes." We were not told that it was a cash breakfast. With all of the hotels in the area and our frugal budget, I would have chosen a different hotel. The hotel room was comfortable but musty smelling.

Just booked for graduation, but would stay again
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. It was accessible to a lot of places. It had a restaurant and bar inside.
Cons: Breakfast should be free in the morning. Also, a night cocktail hour (5-6 or 6-7) would be nice. Our view was terrible--roof top and smokestacks.
Location: The hotel is close to I-55, so you can get to the campus and downtown museums easily. There are several restaurants nearby.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn the night before my graduation from the University. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. Since the hotel is right off of I-55, we could quickly get to the campus, convention center, and other events right outside downtown Springfield. Normally, being this close to the highway is awful because of the traffic noise. However, we didn't hear anything. The hotel has a restaurant and bar inside, but it is also within walking distance of a lot of restaurants. It also has an indoor pool/hot tub. If I am ever in Springfield again, I will stay here.

Extremely comfortable stay in convenient location

Pros: clean room with good amenities, soft and comfy matteress, sheets and pillows, very friendly staff, good location
Cons: Don't book any guests on second floor above banquet room if a party is booked that night.
Location: AMC movie theater and many restaurants surrounding location
I came down from Chicago to visit the Lincoln Museums with my niece. We chose this hotel because I have had such good luck with Hilton Garden Inns in my past and this is no exception. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. They had delicious fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby as you entered and the breakfast buffet in the morning is plentiful and delicous. There are many many restaurants surrounding the hotel as well as a large AMC movie theater right across the street to check out in the evening after a long day of museum touring. My only complaint was that I was there on a Saturday night and they had rented the banquet hall for a 25th birthday party that night which had a live DJ. My room was on the second floor right above the banquet so my bed felt like it was right in the middle of the dance floor whose dance music and thumping base carried on until 11pm that night. When I called the front desk to ask about the music, they offered to move me to a different room, but since it was close enough to 11pm, I declined. The nice waitress in the restaurant comped our breakfast because of our inconvience. I would definately stay here again, but I would ask for a room on the higher floors especially if it is a weekend and any parties are booked that night.

Pros: Friendly staff, modern and clean rooms.
Cons: The indoor pool is small.
The rooms were modern and very clean. We only stayed one night but the staff was very nice. The indoor pool is too small.

A good deal

The hotel was nice (though I'd prefer not to be in the handicap accessible room again - it was near the gym/pool and guests got a little loud right outside the door; the room was one of the last available ones when I booked.) Wifi was strong/consistent, plenty of parking, some good chain restaurants nearby, easy drive to the city center. I will definitely stay here again next time business takes me to Springfield.

Easy access from interstate
Posted Jan 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the frig and microwave were a plus. The hotel was easy access from the interstate and located in an area with other hotels and quite a few restaurant choices. Hotel stay was one night for a business event so didn't use the hotel restaurant or other amenities.
