Old, dirty, terrible

Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: King sized bed.
Cons: Everything else.
Location: Handy, right off the highway, lots of restaurants around.
Oh Lord! This has got to be one of the worse hotels we've ever stayed in. The front desk attendant, while not overly friendly, was ok to deal with. Didn't really make me feel welcomed. There were workmen all over the place. The door locks were in the process of being changed, so there was a mess at every door. When we got to our room, there were wood chips to meet us when we opened the door. I had to sweep out the wood chips. The hotel is old, dirty, and certainly in need of refurbishment. My husband did not dare to use the coffee maker once he looked inside to pour the water in, it was that dirty.

Find someplace else

Cons: dirty room
Upon first entering the room, there was a substance spilled all over the night stand. Upon using the "hot tub" in the room (which is really just a whirlpool tub), I found hairs floating in the tub with me. (NOT MINE!) Noisy people in the halls and yelling outside the window early in the morning, but at that point I was just glad to be getting out of there so it's okay they woke me up!

Simple but practical

Pros: Good place to sleep for a reasonable price. Don' t look for fancy or frills, just basic sleeping quarters.
Cons: Smell in the room
Location: Not many places to shop/eat, Busy street. Tried to walk to a nearby restaurant--no sidewalks or crosswalks but plenty of high weeds. Convenient.
Very nice staff. Room had a very strong deoderizer smell, as if it was trying to cover up some other unpleasant ordor. Noisy air conditioner. Sink was not in the bathroom so it can be disturbing to someone else who is trying to sleep. Set back from the busy street so it was quiet. Not much in the area as far as places to eat or shop. If you are just looking for an inexpensive place to sleep, this is the place.

Pros: clean room
Cons: unfriendly staff
Location: not a great location; better hotels up the road
The Front Desk person was very unfriendly and not welcoming to us as guests at this hotel. The first room we were given was on the first floor, and had a stick securing the window closed. This felt unsafe to me as a woman traveling alone with a child. I asked for a room on the second floor, and although the Front Desk person obliged, it was obvious this extra work was an inconvenience for him. There are handmade signs with notes about security. Did not feel completely safe at this hotel. The room was clean. The coffe maker in the room did not work. Continental breakfast consisted of coffe and water. I was only there for one night. Would never go back.

Issue for Late Risers

Posted Jun 11, 2012
Pros: King Size Bed, and large TV Screen
Cons: Did not have many channels on tv
We were pleased with the King Size Bed Room..The bed had a pillow top matress and was comfortable. Very clean. Only one thing we were disappointed with was the fact that the continental breakfast got over at 9 o'clock. It would have served our purposes if it was open until at least 10 for late risers. Only thing available at 9:15 when we got packed and downstairs was coffee and a few banannas. Juice machine unplugged and no other food out at that time. Desk attendant did not offer to get us some because we where 15 minutes late. The Big Screen TV was a plus but the fact that there not many channels to choose from was disappointing....thought the Room had HBO but didn't. Other than that the room was very accomodating.

Smelled of mold

Posted May 8, 2012
No one at the desk for at least ten minutes when I showed up at 6:30 PM - apparently off fixing a toilet (not a good sign). Room smelled of mildew, carpet was filthy, and the whole place had a real run-down feel to it. Surprised that Super8 let's it continue to carry the brand.
