Place is ok, but customer service was disappointinPosted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: The bathroom was nice.
Cons: Customer service, more sound proofing for the room, a restaurant or some sort of food service in house.
Location: It's downtown, kind of run down in the area.
When I found a parking spot, the whole lot was a sheet of ice. I'm surprised they didnt salt or at least try to shovel before it turned to ice! The accommodations were ok. Had some nice points, but definitely had an overall feel of 'used'. My major issue was with the lack of customer service from several personnel. From the time I checked in until 9pm, kids were running up and down the hall and being loud. I called the front desk and explained the excessive noise and they said they would see what they could do. 11pm I called again, as the issue wasnt resolved. All night the kids kept running. When I checked out in the morning, the gentleman asked how my stay was and I said I didnt sleep very well because of all the noise. I explained how i had called but nothing was taken care of. He just said, "Well, sorry about that. Will you need a receipt?" If it weren't for the lack of good customer service, I would actually plan on using this hotel every visit I have to Springfield. They ruined it. Why pay good money for a 1 star motel service? No thanks.

OutdatedPosted Jan 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was extremely outdated. Our dresser didn't even have handles it looked as if it was homemade. The lamps were falling apart. The TV was an old tube tv dated to the 80s but it worked just fine. The room had an oder that gave my whole family a head ache and sore throat. However the room was stocked well with towels and soap. The employees were very pleasant and friendly and breakfast was very good. This place definitely had it's ups and downs. I would not book here again.

Wonderful staffPosted Jan 17, 2014
This hotel had one of the nicest staff I have ever met. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was so warm and friendly. I loved the art deco theme. It wasn't tacky but really fun. I certainly would go back again.

Good experience at State House InnPosted Dec 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Exterior doesn't impress. The lobby was plain but was neat and clean. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The location was convenient to the downtown attractions and the convention center. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast had bacon, sausage. and gravy to go with waffles, breads, cereal. Overall I believe the State House Inn to be a good value for the rate paid.
