This hotel was fine, and served it's purpose - I was in Colombo for a few days and needed a base to go out and see the city. The rooms were clean, and a were a decent size. A few things worth pointing out to future visitors- it's quite a way from the centre of Colombo, as in, it's probably too far to walk (especially In the heat). As long as you don't mind catching local transport (bus, train or tuk tuk), it's easy enough to get in to the main area - all very cheap to get around. The hotel is also quite noisy, if you're a light sleeper maybe look for somewhere away from the train tracks (which run along the shore front, basically the length of Marine Drive), as the service starts at approx 4:30am, and goes till 11pm - and the train drivers are not shy in using their horns!!
The staff who worked there (porters, housekeeping and security) were all lovely, always friendly and smiley; it's just the management (reception) who seemed a little disinterested and that you were almost a burden when you required assistance!
I hope I haven't been too negative in this review, it's was a nice hotel for a budget. I would recommend this hotel to my friends should they be in the area.
