“Beautiful Hotel and Friendly Staff”

This was my second time at this hotel and both visits were really fun. The staff couldn't do enough kind things for us. The person who complained about poor treatment of 'non-whites' should have seen the diverse mix of people staying while we were there. I would guess the majority were Indian or Sri Lankan and the next large group were of Arabic decent (it was during the Eid Holiday). I saw everyone getting kind and attentive care.

“Sir lanka - bentota 's best hotel”

The hotel is about 3 or 4 hours drive from the intl airport in Colombo depending on the Colombo traffic. Once you get there you will forget about the drive the hotel is situated on a beautiful quite beach. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. We had an excellent vacation in Bentota truly a hidden gem.

“Great place to stay, as long as you are not a dark local person...”

Stayed at this beautiful hotel with my partner, who is a local Sri Lankan. He was told at the door that he could not enter - they assumed he was my driver or tout, etc. It took ten embarrassing minutes of explaining at the door (and intervention by a more senior manager) that we were staying together in the hotel before they would let him in the front door. They repeatedly asked him "You are Sri Lankan, aren't you...?" If the hotel was built for white people only, they should at least post a sign outside. The manager provided a quick, half-hearted apology. However, the staff only served me a welcome drink at reception during this apology. We would have stayed at another location had we not already pre-paid for the room. The staff here mean well, but have obviously not been trained well. I complained to the hotel officially in writing, though I received no response.
