Not worth it!!

The hotel is locate right on the beach and that plus the staff were the only positives. The room was very small and it felt dirty. The carpet smelled like wet dog and the tile was sticky and dirty. The sliding doors were almost impossible to open and there were towels on the floor to prevent water from coming in when it rains. Which it was when we arrived and the carpet was very moist. The mattress was the worse I've slept in and my back was killing me the next day and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The sofa in the living room was old smelly and uncomfortable. My kids slept in that bed and even they complained and they are only 5 and 6 years old. I have never left a bad review before but this was too much, please think twice before you stay here!!

Our time at the Beachers

Posted Apr 29, 2012
Pros: We liked the location and the ease of getting to it, and its placement on the beach.
Cons: It needs to be cleaner and the repairs need to kept up to date.
Location: Located on Crescent Beach about 10 miles south of Old St. Augustine at the junction of SR206 and A1a
Upon arrival the gentleman at the desk was very helpful with check-in and information about local restaurants, etc. When we got to our room it looked very nice, complete kitchen and appliances, dining area, living room opening onto balcony and large bedroom. The bathroom is very small but usable. When we opened the sliding door to the balcony it took both hands and a lot of effort, turn on the paddle fan and it is one speed only, the chains are broken off and the blades droop towards the floor. The a/c in the main room was not working, it would run but not blow cold air, at night it got very warm in here. The biggest surprise of all was after taking a shower, I walked to the dining area to sit down and put my shoes on before going out and the bottoms of my feet were completely black from walking across the floor. This is a ceramic tile floor (because of the sand) but the cleaning lady just swept it when it really needed mopping. With just a little effort, this could be a really nice place to stay but is way over priced for the way it is at present.
