I had read the reviews on-line before booking, and the hotel lived up to its excellent ratings by previous guests. One of the highlights was the weekday breakfast host named Reggie. He is a delightful British fellow who clearly enjoys his job and cheerfully greets all the guests. Several of the guests seemed to know him, and I overheard one guest say that Reggie was the reason he stays at that particular Hampton Inn. People were leaving generous tips for him on the tables, which I have never seen for complimentary hotel breakfasts in my 30+ years of extensive world-wide business travel. It was quite extraordinary! Our only complaint was that the maids did not refill the Kleenex in the bathroom after the first day.

This hotel is situated in an area of improvemnet meaning there is currently construction going on and older condemnd buildings in the area. That being said it is not a bad area at all. Short drive to the downtown historical district and attractions. Don't worry that it is not listed as beach front the walk is only about thirty seconds from the parking lot, be aware that they do allow driving on this beach.

Very pleasant staff and excellent accomodations - small gym and excellent breakfast

The first room we were in was dark and overlooking residential sloppy backyards. The next day we upgraded to an ocean view with balcony which was 100% better. The pool was lovely along with the spa. The breakfast buffet was ample and quite good.
