Traveling from Charlotte, N.C. to Miami, Florida

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Loved the comfortable beds, sheets and pillows. Slept like a baby.
Cons: Can't say since I rated this hotel EXCELLENT. It was perfect.
Location: The Hotel is off of exit 318 on Florida's I-95. Convenient location.
My best friend, 3 kids (all under 6) were traveling to Miami from Charlotte. We were originally going to stop closer to Miami but since the weather was horrific and the traffic was just as bad, we pulled over and decided to stay in St. Augustine. I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn in many years and was a bit weary since I tend to stay in 4-5 star hotels but WOW, was I surprised. Not only was the hotel very pretty but the room we stayed in was very nice. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. The hotel had an indoor pool which was nice since it was pouring rain it gave the kids an outlet to get rid of all that pent up energy. The hotel staff from the hotel desk clerk to the gentleman at the breakfast buffet were attentive, polite and beyond friendly and courteous. Although we only spent one night there and were back to our road trip the following morning we all slept like babies which is what we needed. I definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly revisit Holiday Inn's in the future.

Nice Hotel with Great Staff

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Clean Rooms, Great staff!!
Cons: Hidden fees? Shouldn't charge for extra person when I rented the Suite.
Location: Close to Historic District.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Best part was the very pleasant and courteous staff. Thanks Chloe, Mary Ann and Anna for your excellent "Guest Come First Service". Highly recommended.

Pros: Modern but comfortable. Very well designed rooms. Excellent breakfast. Friendly & helpful staff.
Location: St. Augustine & outlet malls nearby.
We're back to staying at Holiday Inns because they have been vastly improved. This one was even better than we expected. Hurray!

stay away from here if you want to sleep

Pros: overall appearance nice
Cons: paper thin walls
Location: red train tours
paper thin walls. you can hear everything going on in next room. people beating on door at 2 am one night. the next night people above running back and forth all night. no sleep in two days. only thing they said was "oh really. Sorry to hear that." supposed to have a full breakfast buffet not even close. and on top of that they charge $2 for a snickers bar (really?) Never staying there again not even close to impressed.

It was better than what it looked online

I forgot to bring my shaving cream and toothpaste, the staff had it there for me upon request. The whole place looks so well kept and new. Great location very close to I-95 and the outlet malls. Not to far from the beach and downtown historical area.

Great hotel close to Colonial Williamsburg

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, great pool/spa, delicious hot full breakfast.
Cons: Front desk staff. People skills need worked on.
Location: Location, location, location! So close to Colonial Williamsburg.
This hotel was wonderful! Location is just around the corner from Colonial Williamsburg, which was our destination. Also, many restaurants, movie theater, etc about 3/4 mile in the other direction. The hotel is very new looking and very well kept up. Rooms were clean, comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was outstanding each morning and was included at no cost. The pool and hot tub were used on all of our nights there and it was awesome. They were both so clean and clear, very well kept up. There is laundry which we used, however it was a little inconvenient. First there is only 1 washer and 1 dryer (which did not dry very well). Second it's on the 2nd floor at the far end, which was very inconvenient when you are not on that floor and are using the pool at the time. (Could have been better situated on the 1st floor by the pool & more machines as other people were wanting to use them as well.) Third, the hotel staff on duty were not real happy when you asked for quarters to do laundry? The girl from Jamaica at the desk was very fake and rude. She lacks people skills and when you check out and her boss is next to her, she forces this over the top, fake, wish you safe travels spill. During our stay I attempted to ask her what is around the area and how close and she was zero help, she just gestured her hand in the air to just drive to the right out of the hotel. No help! Overall though, the hotel is a very nice place to stay and is smoke free :-)
