Surprisingly delightful last minute experience!

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Overall appearance. Very modern, with great attention to detail.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: Location is convenient, and St. Augustine is a great destination for all ages. One of our favorites.
Made a quick decision to go to St. Augustine Sunday night and Monday(Labor Day) and found Jaybird online. Had never heard of it, and wondered if it would be anything close to nice, clean, and comfortable. It was a place we not only were comfortable with, but decided we would definitely stay there again, as often as possible. Great property, with great staff, and delightfully accommodating.

Very nice hotel for the end of our holiday

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Nicely decorated rooms, nice shower, style of rooms, coffee facilities, size of room, comfortable bed
Cons: No plates, knives/forks etc for self catering. Fridge door difficult to open. No Scales to weigh bags for flight restrictions. 2 light bulbs blown.
Location: Riplys Red Bus was just around the corner. Two shops selling food nearby.
We chose this hotel as it has been modernised and the rooms looked great on the pictures and it was very affordable with car parking. It didn't disappoint us and was very easy to find. Breakfast was just what we wanted and very relaxed. Staff were helpful and friendly. It is about 25 minutes walk into the centre of St Augustines which when hot can be tiring but doable. You can pay and use the Red Bus by Riplys to make this easier. St Augustines was the nicest of all the places we visited in Florida and we stayed in 9 hotels travelling 1700 miles.

Nice hotel, average location

We had a car, so the location of this hotel away from the centre of town wasn't an issue at all, but it would be if you were planning on walking into town. Hotel is nice, breakfast is good. Pool area is ok. Room was comfortable.

Super Clean and Great Location

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, Location and Staff
Location: It is exactly 2.1 miles to the center of downtown saint Augustine promenade. The old jail and fountain of youth is walking distance.
We stayed 4 nights here and was very impressed with how spotless and clean it was. The rooms were updated to a more modern decor and beds were very comfy. The continental breakfast was pleasing, the staff very accommodating and the location was great.

Cons: The owners have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional accommodations run by an exceptional staff.
Location: Make sure you check out the Jaybird restaurant right next door. The food is delicious! The happy hour is wonderful!
The hotel is lovely, beautifully renovated. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is a first class establishment!

Don't judge a book by the cover

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: the room, the floor, the paint color. its all beautiful. the lobby is nice as well
Cons: the outside look of the hotel
Location: the thrift store up the street was great found 3 nice necklaces and chaffing dish wire racks, was very conveniently located
Was going to be in St. Augustine for 3 days, found this hotel and fell in love with the rooms. Saw images of the outside and was a bit put off but decided to go with it anyways. We showed up and my first thought was- what did i get myself in to - the staff was very friendly. I had the room right next to the lobby (101) The room was beautiful, everything seemed clean, It would have been nice if the floor was swept a bit more(the floors are so dark you see everything) no smells, not lots of noise, never went to see the pool and didn't stay for breakfast, it did look like the area where breakfast was available in the lobby wasnt done with the renovations but the lobby is nice. housekeeping made the bed but didn't really straighten out sheets just pulled up the cover. if this hotel can get the outside of the hotel remolded it will def be a gem. I will plan to stay in this hotel if back in the area. Rooms are very nice and big.

Nice hotel close to historic downtown.

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Clean, close to downtown, good restaurant next door.
Location: no more than 5 minutes from the historic downtown area with all of the museums and attractions.
Jaybird inn was great. All of the staff was very nice and they accommodated all of our needs. Very clean, beds were actually comfortable. Staff was always helpful and gave great information regarding any questions about site seeing and transportation around town. I would stay there again!
