Our room had the ocean view. Loved the view. Room was clean and bed was we comfortable. Great seafood down the street "Caps on the Water". Great food, outside dinning by the bay.

Cozy beachfront hotel with a family feelPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Everything! It's clean and comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and it's right on the beach.
Cons: The hotel doesn't have a vending machine; one of those would be nice.
Location: Far enough from tourist activities to be relaxing, close enough to get there fast. Beautiful beach. Great restaurant called Cap's down the road.
I had a wonderful time at the Ocean Sands Beach Inn. The atmosphere was almost like a private beach house, but with friendly and helpful staff and a comfortable room I didn't have to clean! My room included not only a mini fridge but a freezer, a microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker. The bed was perfect and there were plenty of channels on the flat panel TV. Normally I avoid walking barefoot on a hotel room floor, but I did so mistakenly once and discovered that the carpet felt soft and clean, like being at home! The best thing about the hotel is the location. It backs up to a wild, marshy area with plenty of beautiful greenery, and a private strip of Vilano Beach sits right across the road. The beach is lovely, with dunes of seashells giving way to soft sand. My first morning I stood in the lapping waves and watched the sun rise - divine. Other hotel amenities include an outdoor shower conveniently located next to a side door for easy access to your room from the beach, free breakfast, and 24-hour front desk staff. There is also a St. Augustine guidebook in each room. While the hotel is not in walking distance of downtown St. Augustine, it's great for people like me who want a relaxing atmosphere after a long day of bustling tourist activities. Drive down A1A in one direction and you get to town in just a few minutes. There are various shops and restaurants along the way. Head in the other direction and you'll find an amazing seafood restaurant called Cap's.

Pros: Staff was amazing! No request was too extreme.
Cons: Larger breakfast area.
Location: Located in Villano Beach, 10 minutes away Old Town St. Augustine, beach is across the street.
Nice hotel, across from beach. Had loaner chairs, umbrella, toys. Hot breakfast was good! Conveniently close to Publix & attractions. Sold attraction tickets there & shuttle to attractions as well. Staff was extremely friendly & thoughtful as well. Pool was nicely maintained.

Way overpriced, pictures deceiving.Posted Aug 6, 2014
A highway runs between the hotel and the beach - a major one. Pool much much smaller than pictures appear - 6 people max before bumping into each other. Ants in room. Reserved a room for 4 adults with 2 beds...got one bed and a flimsy fold out couch. Air conditioner ran and ran, room never got below 82 degrees. All this for 200 a night? Never again.

Excellent with a private beach.Posted Jul 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great and enjoyable place. Friendly staff and a good breakfast bar with REAL food like sausage & waffles. Close to all the sights, shopping and the best restaurants, but not crammed downtown. Very nice experience and we will return!

Staff was amazing...Every staff member we ran into was extremely nice and very accommodating going above regular duties. Hotel was older it you can tell the owner maintains it very well. Wasn't on the beach. But directly across the street no obstruction in view though. Literally less than a a minute walk across the street. Private beach was nice. The girls loved it! We'd stay again.

Not as fancy as I had hoped.Posted Jul 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
This motel was not bad, it just seemed a little disappointing for the price. We paid extra for the beach view but had to look out over A1A to see it. The staff was pleasant, but the breakfast was not super.

Nice beach across a very busy road.Posted Jul 15, 2014
We booked this motel after considering some of the comments on Expedia. After we booked however, there were other comments which were more accurate and we would not have booked . It has definitely seen better days, needs painting, etc. The room was small, smelled musty, but was clean. The "hot" breakfast was barely warm. All in all the motel was a disappoinemt.
