hotel removed from everything not involving golf

Posted Dec 16, 2014
The room was clean when we arrived, but the staff kept forgetting to clean our rooms. The first time, we arrive back at around midnight to find our bed unmade, no clean towels, dirty drinking glasses and no coffee to prepare in the morning. That same day, the maid service tried to enter our room prior to 9 a.m. We tried telling her we did not have a privacy tab and that we needed some paper to write on, but she did not understand a work of English. The coke machine on our floor was broken, so we had to go to the gift shop if we wanted a coke to drink. The address says St. Augustine, but we were at least 12 miles from the town and close to 8 miles before we encountered the sign that said St. Augustine. Come to find out, we were in a different county. They said they upgraded our room, but it was a poor excuse for an upgrade. The wall paper in the bathroom was coming off and when the door shut it sounded like you were in dungeon. The staff in Villagio was good, helpful and attentive and the breakfast was the best part of the day.

Stay away from this hotel

Posted Dec 15, 2014
We spend one night in this hotel. The stuff is VERY unfriendly. We had isue with hot water and the balcony door wan't close. It is very close to hoghway. You will heard the traffic noise. Even hotel is not nice. Can't recoment to stay there. It was waste of money and our time to stay there. Choise another hotel.

Very nice hotel and well staffed

Posted Dec 6, 2014
Pros: THE COMFORT AND THE FRIENDLY STAFF
Cons: THE CHRISTMAS DECORATION
Location: IT IS NEAR I-95 AND NOT FAR AWAY FROM ST.AUGUSTINE HISTORIC CITY (12 MILES) NO PROBLEMS.
WE HAD VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE.WE ARE PLANNING TO RETURN SOON AND RECOMMEND IT TO OTHER PEOPLE WE KNOW. MAYBE FOR NEXT YEAR YOU CAN INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE.IT LOOKS SMALL FOR SUCH A BIG LOBBY.

Nice hotel next to golf and IMAX

Posted Nov 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Our bathroom sink was cracked.
Location: Located in World Golf Village next to the World Golf Hall of Fame, IMAX theater, two golf courses, outlet malls and historic St. Augustine.
We experienced something new here. We had never been assigned a room that already had someone checked in there. Although the person was not there, their luggage and toiletries were. The front desk personnel were quite dismayed and very apologetic, not having an idea how this could happen. They made good on the mistake by giving us a room upgrade and voucher for Sunday brunch for both of us as well as our friend who was visiting us there. This more than made up for the mix up!

Nice hotel for golfers

Posted Nov 18, 2014
The hotel was a decent hotel but I do not think it was worth the money. My boyfriend and I planned on stopping in St. Augustine on our way home and having stayed at many Marriott hotels in the past I was excited to book this hotel. The lobby was impressive however the hotel was not very busy and we were given a room with a balcony that looked over the ceiling of the restaurant of the hotel and all you could smell were onions and garlic. This was not a huge issue given that we were only there for one night but it would have been a nice added bonus if they had given us a better view especially since they were not fully booked. Also the room was fair for a Renaissance however the carpet was torn and the bathroom was not completely clean. There were hairs on the counters and shower. The hotel was okay but given that it was a Renaissance I expected more.

Quiet and Peaceful

Posted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: The location...remote and tranquil, plus very convenient to shops and St. Augustine.
Cons: I had a handicapped person with me and the toilets were to low for her. It was difficult to assist her.
Location: The best for activities....IMAX right next door, plus the golf course on the property...
Our experience was very nice. Any activities in the hallway or other rooms were not heard. Nice, sound proof atmosphere.
