Not the best place to stay

When you only pay $99 a night for a room in st. Augustine, you get what you pay for.

Top five worst

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Tear it down. Expedia should not degrade your reputation with such a listing.
Location: Location, near many good things if you have a car or bicycle to get there.
The hotel is dated and mechanically not good. I could not get the room to cool sufficiently to sleep well. It is not on the beach. In fact, if you are not familiar with the area, beach access would be very difficult. The bed was old. Towels worn thin. The coffee maker did not work. Not only will I not stay here but being a. Regular to the area, I will make sure nobody I know ever considers it. All this is bad, but the price is staggeringly inappropriate for the location and condition. I question expedia's standards in listing but I understand the prepay guarantee now. I will also never use expedia for anything but a cursory search. Bad bad experience. Don Cochran

Nice location, pleasant staff

Posted Jun 3, 2014
We stayed at the St. Augustine Island Inn for 3 nights and 2 days in mid May after a week at Disney. It was sort of our after vacation vacation. The staff/owners are very helpful and friendly. The hotel and room are a bright, cheery yellow with ocean themed art. The room was nice and large and included a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was a breakfast served in the morning that included engish muffins, butter, jam, cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee and tea. They are located a short (and beautiful) walk from the beach and a quick drive into historic St. Augustine. I would stay again.

Do not stay here!

Posted May 18, 2014
Pros: Shower curtain clean.
Cons: Everything. I can' imagine how they will stay in business.
Location: St Augustine is a great place to spend time.
Poorly staffed, blankets with burns stains and ripped. Towels so thin we thought they were hand towels. Beds simply thrown together when room was supposedly cleaned with blankets hanging on floor. Coffee pot never emptied or cleaned. When I asked for a new blanket was told to come down to the desk to get it. When I got there she said she didn't have one and it would be delivered and when it was it was as bad as the first one! Worse continental breakfast ever!! Overheard a guest asking for a coffee pack for the room as they had not replaced it and he was told he could only have one. Oh yes, bedspreads all stained also.

Clean, friendly, inexpensive hotel.

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly, rooms were clean, price was right.
Cons: The breakfast, but then the price was right and I wasn't looking for fine dining.
Location: Walking distance to supermarket, stores, restaurants, and beach. Short drive to other dining and close to St. Augustine.
Staff were friendly, rooms were clean, price was right. Beach is 15 minutes walk through the only remaining natural area in this locale. Price was right, pool well maintained.

ok hotel but very disappointed for the money

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: The king size bed and the pillows were very comfortable.
Cons: Watch the people that come thru your parking lot.
Location: We did go to the Oasis and did get to go to the beach.
very disappointed for the money we spent to stay there. Staff was ok but could of been friendlyl. First night we were there we were coming back from going to dinner and a very drugged person in the parking lot. It was kind of scary that the hotel lets those kind of people around the facility

Mold in rugs made for unpleasant stay.

Posted Apr 18, 2014
The mold smell was Very strong. The shampoo and soaps were not replaced, even though they were emptied. Bed was made next morning but still looked like someone layed on it. Did not stay third night.
