Hibiscus beachPosted Aug 29, 2013
Pros: Location on the beach. Quiet when we went but bar can be hopping.
Cons: It is what it is. Don't expect the Ritz.
Location: You need a car. Watch for road signs. There aren't many! Potholes too
Great on the beach location. A bit tired and old but can't beat the location. Request an upstairs room on the beach for a nice balcony view. Snorkeling was pretty good but beware of rip currents.

On the beachPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Location - beach & snorkeling right there.
Cons: Upgrade the beach chairs. The ones that we used were worn out, uncomfortable and saggy.
Location: Walk next door on the beach to the Palms for a change of pace meal or drive into Christensted for shopping and live music.
A decent hotel in a fabulous location - right on the beach. The bar was lively with locals mixing in with hotel guests. The beach volleyball was fun and the snorkeling out in front of the hotel was great (you need to get out at least 100 yards before the water clears up).

Pretty Standard Caribbean/Beach HotelPosted Aug 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
If you are looking for a simple little motel style hotel to stay on the beach this is it. If you are looking for a resort hotel with updated bathrooms and a lobby this is not it. Staff is very nice - and they have free snorkeling equipment. Bar is cool. Note: They operate using a generator and it did go out while we were there, leaving us with no electricity and no water for about 5 hours. (If you are a spoiled American or European who is going to get an attitude over that, you probably should stay somewhere more expensive, or perhaps go to an island with more resources readily available). - I'm American so don't go getting all offended by that.

Friendly staff, needs upgradingPosted Jun 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location. The bedroom was nicely updated but the bathroom was awful. The beach was not raked. Food was good.

I wish I had more timePosted Jun 9, 2013
Pros: Friendly, really. Just friendly.
Location: Oh, there's everything to do at a driver shot. Located just outside Cristiansted and their premier shopping district. Dare to drive on the left!
I recently discovered this cozy retreat in St. Croix. Stayed overnight on business but let me tell you, I checked out the next day, but with a 5:30PM flight, I had some down hours. I just placed my bags in holding and stayed there. They have this nice rest/bar smack on the beach and the hotel personell is just awesome. To be friendly is kind of their job. To offer their POV to go buy smokes at the gas station?... A+. From the front office to the cleaning lady to the bartenders to the cook this was an awesome experience in a nice setting in a beatiful island that I would suggest to adventure travelers or budget travelers. Is rare when you look up in the net and "what you see is what you get". This is one of those places. Enjoy!! (And ask for the chicken wrap with those sea-salt fries!)

3 star hotel with a 5 star staffPosted May 4, 2013
It's a 3 star hotel with a 5 star staff. Beautiful view of the beach from our balcony. The food and drinks were excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed when I first got there because the water at the beach hotel is very sea weedy and we didn't go in it. The rooms are a little outdated, but all and all it was a good experience. It seems they save the best beaches for the locals like Rainbow Beach or cane Bay. The public beaches had bars, music and food and never seemed too crowded. We ended up having a great time!!! I would stay there again, mostly because the staff was so nice. Terry G

way over pricedPosted Jun 15, 2012
Location: fine, not a beach for swimmers or kids.
common area of bar and restaurant was poor. very neglected and very mismanaged, rooms were fine. almost no concern from staff, probably up for sale-of note; island is in dire economic conditions
