Very nice hotel on water and reefPosted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Staff; quiet; great views; access to reef and water sports; close to town and other beaches; close to Buck Island
Cons: Food little limited; would like to see more healthy breakfast options and more local produce
Location: Perfect location to get to Buck Island directly from resort; reef; town and neighboring beaches and resorts. You do not need a car and cabs easy
Great staff! Beautiful hotel on water with views of ocean and Buck Island; with good water sports but unfortunately no sandy beach to swim. We went to neighboring beaches and Buck Island to swim; nice pool though. Rooms clean and comfortable. The bar/rest on site good but limited menu; the fancy one not very good and expensive but in fairness we went on a Monday night which is not ever good idea as out of many things and may not be the A team in kitchen. Close to town and everything. Highly recommend except if you really want a sandy beach at your doorstep.

Nice place to stay, great viewPosted Jul 13, 2014
The staff was very helpful, the Deep End Bar was a great place to hang out to eat, drink, and enjoy a beautiful view. At night time it gets even better. The locals come to the Deep End and it's a very friendly environment.

Great hotel/spa on the beach with waves crashingPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Being on the water and hearing the ocean breezes and the view.
Cons: The restaurant menu could be a little bit better but in general all meals were good. A great breakfast place.
Location: Access to boating in the marina and a fine restaurant, The Galleon. A great beach, tennis courts and great spa.
The hotel and spa has improved so much we loved our stay. The hotel and bar/restaurant staff are very friendly and fun to be around. The manager of the restaurant has added lots of fun special events on some evenings. The location is great close to Christiansted and the east end of the island. A great place

AwesomePosted May 19, 2014
We had terrific stay.Fabulous view from our balcony. Right on the water.great food and service at the resort restaurant. Horseshoe pit, volleyball, very nice pool and the best part was the free use of kayacks, snorkel gear and paddle boards for people staying there.truthfully if you were looking to save some money on excursions, with this place you have a lot to do right there without leaving the property. Great staff.not one bad thing to say except if you kayack out to green cay island....beware of the sea urchin. .there everywhere and the cross current can drag you shallow. Also buck island close by as well.would come back for sure.

A little dated facility, but looks like most on the island are. Clean facilities. Corteous staff. Deep End Bar was a great place to relax and visit with locals and other guests. Not much in the way of activities, but rained while there. Overall, good place. Recommend a stay here if you are not looking to have activities close by and looking for a good place to relax and spend time with significant other.

I have stayed at several hotels while traveling in the Islands. This hotel is the second best hotel on St. Croix. VERY PLEASED... For the price it was awesome.

Fantastic people. Great snorkeling and views.Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: The people who ran the restaurant and beach activities.
Cons: Only thing that I would improve is bathrooms. I am told they are currently renovating them. I would also have liked an outside Jacuzi
Location: Next to marina for boat trips to Buck Island, Captain Carl was great. SCUBA co. comes to hotel to dive train. 4 tennis cts. 2 restaurants, Kayaks.
Very relaxing. Great beach for underwater activities. Good casual restaurant with fun activities on several nights. Music, bingo and crab racing. People who serve at restaurant and run the activities are the best. Some names Mimi, Elena, Tamarra, Jenna, Lacey, Brooks, and I know I forgot people. Upscale restaurant needs food improvement and more choices, still good. Great server and table side Caesar salad. It is a great place to relax and stay awhile. If you want fancy room and resort prices and big production shows this is not the places. But, if you want to kick back, have amazing views, love to beach comb, play tennis, meet great people, snorkel or dive come here.

Laid BackPosted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: The room was very spacious and the balcony was nice. The place has an unpretentious look and feel, very casual and easygoing.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit small and cramped.
Location: You need a car or taxi to get to Christiansted but well worth exploring for its Danish history and nice boardwalk. The drive east is also very nice.
I enjoyed my stay at Tamarind Reef. The room with a king size bed was spacious and clean with a nice balcony looking out at palm trees, reef and ocean. It was relaxing to sit there in the morning and evening with the warm breezes. The grounds are nicely landscaped with a wide expanse of sand at the beach, which is for snorkeling only and relaxing under thatched roof open air huts. For swimming, you can cut through the property to the Chenay resort next door or drive to The Buccaneer resort which has a beautiful beach. The Deep End restaurant and bar is a nice place for breakfast right on the property and dinner is good, too. The view is magnificent. Check out the resident iguanas. The guys at the beach hut where they provide snorkeling equipment and kayaks are friendly and helpful. The snorkeling is great and wish I'd spent more time exploring.

Great hotel for beach bums and newbie snorklersPosted Mar 3, 2014
Tamarind Reef has an excellent beach for just hanging out. Though it is technically public it was not at all crowded during our visit, and the beach huts are an excellent place for the easily sunburned to enjoy without worry about being crisped. The Deep End restaurant and bar is an easy saunter away, as is an equipment hut where snorkling and kayaking gear are available for free to guests. The snorkling trail is easy to follow and on the shorter side, so even novice snorklers can go out on their own. It also has enough wildlife to keep you interested, although the fan corals were my highlight. The Deep End has food that ranges from just okay to quite good, with the quality of the salads coming as a pleasant surprise. For the frugal drinker, avoid 'classic' carribean drinks like a pina colada, as they are over-priced and under liquored, although the simpler rum and coke I had was much cheaper and deliciously rum-y! The rooms were scrupulously clean, and larger than expected. The only downside was the elderly refrigerator and ceiling fan, both of which made humming noises. If you are early to bed, make sure you stay in the building furthest away from the bar, which can get noisy. The staff were universally friendly... one of them overly so. I understand that some men feel the need to tell random women they are beautiful, but I don't appreciate being hit on from a desk-worker when he is the only employee I could find.
