“Amazing Service, Exceptional Stay”

From the moment we were picked up by the Buchaneer-arranged taxi, to the moment we left (reluctantly), we were spoiled. - Rum in the lobby upon check-in. - Rides up to main hotel (on top of hill). - Polite staff. - Beach towels in room and on beach during attendant hours. - Housekeeping is fabulous, sweeping sand off floor, tons of towels and cleaning the room. Plus turn-down service in the evening (chocolate mint on the pillow!). - A fresh omelet every morning at the breakfast buffet that stretches as far as you can see. - Beach is amazing - snorkeling gear, kyaks no charge, plenty of lounges. Restaurants right off sand. - Shuttle into town is cheap. The entire staff is amazing. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and service-oriented. They do accept tips, so take dollar bills. Otherwise, affordable meals and large portions keep the bill down. And really, you COULD walk up the hill. But if they are going to show at your door in 2.5 minutes... why not call them? Fairly quiet, a number of families, although we were on our honeymoon and fit right in. We will be back!

“A Perfect Honeymoon”

Our honeymoon at the Buccaneer was more than we imagined! Upon our arrival friendly staff members offered us complimentary rum punch. The Tuesday night Welcome Cocktail Hour introduced us to all this resort has to offer; great food, lively entertainment, amazing views, and a staff that caters to your every need. Our ocean front deluxe room was located steps from the beach with the relaxing sounds of palms swaying and waves lapping the shoreline. We chose the Buccaneer for its promise of a "country club" atmosphere, prefering a laid back honeymoon with options of quiet sunbathing, golf, and use of the spa. In August, the resort is sparsely populated..plenty of lounge chairs on the beach, lots of space in the pool, available tee times, and a general feeling of privacy. The complimentary breakfast buffet is tremendous. Talented musicians provided entertainment on the Terrace every evening. We were most impressed by the three beautiful beaches, the wide open space of the resort, the twice daily maid service, the gorgeous golf course, and the convenient proximity to Christiansted. We recommend taking the 1/2 day sightseeing trip that departs from the resort and the snorkeling trip to Buck island's pristine beaches! I see my husband and I returning to the Buccaneer someday as a couple or even with children. Before our trip, we met several people who've been to the Buccaneer and told us we were going to love it...well, we've been there and we loved it!

“"A truly wonderful resort"”

We have visited the Caribbean Islands 20 times over many years. This 300 ACRE resort is excellent for all the amenities, the historic charm and picturesque views. We stayed for 11 days (Feb-March, 2010) and rate it one of the very best. The buffet breakfasts (all-included) are served on the scenic hillside terrace. They are especially good with a plentiful variety of fruits and juices together with numerous hot and cold dishes. We seldom needed to have lunch!! The one-story rooms, over the shoreline, have stone wall patios and large interiors. They are classically built, plus adequate storage space, and have air conditioners and fans. There are two beautiful beaches (one has a swimming pool) plus shady palm trees, cafe style restaurants, free kayaks, snorkeling equipment, plenty of beach chairs, and towels-which the "always friendly" staff offered willingly. The evening meals averaged $35, but a lighter menu is always available in the same terrace area. Various local music groups play every evening. The challenging golf course is a scenic "roller-coaster" and everyone uses golf carts. The greens are well kept and the fairways are adequate (It is the Caribbean !) The tennis courts are excellent and rated highly. YES....We plan to return for another wonderful vacation!

“Buccaneer puts the Virgin in Virgin Islands!”

Somehow Buccaneer has found a way to capture the untouch beauty of this Virgin Island while providing for the traveler's needs! From the food to the facilities the Buccaneer keeps the authentic and historical culture alive. We wanted to experience an island that was not a "cruise ship stop" where we could explore the natural uncommercialized culture. St. Croix and the Buccaneer provided the perfect option. We mainly took advantage of four of the swimming options (3 styles of beaches and a beachside pool)for snorkeling or soaking up the sun. Both food and service were top notch at all restaurants on the property. Tennis and golf facilities weave their way through the property providing manicured visual foregrounds. The staff from the manager to the housekeepers were congenial and accomodating. We also took the short taxi ride to downtown Christiansted to take advantage of the snorkeling excursions, shopping and restaurants there. Buccaneer will be on the top of our list of places to stay on St. Croix

“Great place to stay”

This was the second time we stayed at the Buccaneer. We love the place. There are two beaches - one has some underwater corals that you can snorkel around all day. This time the breakfast was served in the main building so we had to go up hill to get breakfast (we walked most days). One tip - there is no cash machine at the resort so if you need cash you'll have to find the St. Croix Bank in Christiansted. Since we had a car this was not a big problem, but we did get help from a local fireman in finding the place.
