A resort that makes you feel like your familyPosted Mar 18, 2013
Pros: Made us feel safe and part of the family
Location: Beautiful beach with a fantastic view of the ocean
What a great experience. The hotel staff went well beyond the normal "hotel experience" level of service and helped to make this a fantastic trip. The hotel is not a large facility, but they provide a personal approach to their guests to make them feel welcome and at home. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with some of the rooms having patios that allow you to walk straight out to the beach. Couples and families made up the guests while we were there and everyone felt welcome An extra special touch was a snorkel experience that was guided by the staff and custom made to the guests. Out family was the only one that went out that day and we were treated to a 1 1/2 hour trip of seeing a ton of fish and other sea creatures and they provided personal pictures after the fact. - All this is included complementary

GREAT HOTEL FOR A FAMILYPosted Jan 2, 2013
WE LIKED THE SMALLER, QUIET HOTEL EXPERIENCE RATHER THAN A LARGE IMPERSONAL HOTEL.

Great place to kick back and relax.Posted Jul 30, 2012
This place is a gem! We were there for 4 days. Went snorkling with Lewis as our guide. He was very kind and informative. The pool was inviting and clean. The staff was so helpful and pleasant. I would definitely stay there again. Large rooms. The only thing I can think that I would change is that when you have the curtains in the rooms closed, it was very dark. But with the view, we hardly had them closed! Great place.

Perfect for the pricePosted Jul 10, 2012
A lovely hotel, although it's Trip Adviser status as the #1 hotel in the Virgin Islands is certainly undeserved. The beach is pretty but the swimmable areas are limited by rocks and seaweed. It's location is central, making the rest of the island very accessible if you rent a car. WiFi is very inconsistent. We thought there was free wifi throughout, but upon checkin it was only available in the lounge area. The next day, however, I got Wifi in the room, but not in the lounge area. The staff was friendly and I would give the food a solid B.

Would definitely go back.Posted Apr 29, 2012
Pros: The staff and the fact that it's right on the beach.
Cons: Restaurant - too expensive and limited menu.
Location: Out in the middle of no where - quiet and secluded.
Everyone and everything was great. They offer free snorkeling trips and allow you to borrow snorkeling gear for free (any other place would charge you). My only complaint is we signed up for the snorkeling trip and showed up and waited, only to find out the leader had taken off for the day. Would have been nice if someone had contacted us to let us know it was canceled since we had our day planned around it. The restaurant menu was limited and very pricey - didn't offer much for children (or me for that matter). Everything else was wonderful though! Housekeeping staff were fun. Front desk staff were great. The hotel is not walking distance from anywhere so you will need a car.

We Had a Great time in St.CroixPosted Apr 9, 2012
Pros: The beach and the Palm trees!
Cons: How clean it was and the location.
Location: Not in the best neighborhood.Need better signs.
We stayed at the Palms March 24-30 2012 for our 30th anniversary. Our stay at the palms for the most part was good. At times the person at the front desk was friendly and helpful and at times it felt like we were bothering them. The room we stayed in was a rooftop suite. I expected more! Its not quite like the pictures. They need a handy man to fix up little things that make a room great. House keeping were some of the nicest people there. Our room had a musty smell and could of been cleaner. We bought an air freshener and candle that helped. The beach was beautiful and we love it. The snorkeling was nice but nothing grand. We ate at the restaurant many time because it was convenient. One night was bad but the rest were ok and good.We rented a car and went many places everyday. The neighborhood was just ok.No one really went out of there way to make it special for us ,we did that for our self. We made the best of it and had a great time. The beach is the best part if the palms for sure! Make sure you take a day cruise to Buck Island! The snorkeling was great.Drive to Sandy point on the week-end and hike down to the beach at Point Udall. Its what you make of it and we had a great time!

Great hotel but disappointing beachPosted Feb 6, 2012
Pros: The rooms and the restaurant
Cons: The beach
Location: Isolated location. We weren't planning on renting a car but ended up doing so as it got pricey to keep getting taxis to go anywhere.
Very nice rooms (except for a few minor things like broken dresser handles and worn, but clean). Friendly, helpful staff. Great snorkeling offshore but not so great for swimming (all rocks and no sand as you enter the water). Excellent restaurant on site but need a taxi or rental car to eat anywhere else, other than at the hotel next door, which was ok, not great.
