Great stay
Great location, 10 minutes from the train station even with a 15kg suitcase. Quiet even though only a stone’s throw away from the library-cathedral complex. Three restaurants very close by.

High quality hotel in the middle of St. Gallen.
Good city hotel, about 200m from the Abbey. The difference with this hotel was the hospitality of the staff, everyone was helpful and positive (including the cleaners and housekeepers). Yet everyone also took Corona very seriously, with facemasks everywhere and, of course, the check for the Certificate for entry to the breakfast room. Bedroom was a little echoey, thanks to the spartan internal design, but was comfortable. Very on trend, but may not be to everyone's taste... Breakfast was fine, some particularly good local cheeses available.

Excellent hotel in the centre of town.
Great location. Staff were all very helpful. Buffet breakfast was good, with a wide choice. Limited parking spaces available at rear of hotel for CHF15 per night. Would recommend.

The Dom seems to have everything going for it - friendly and obliging staff, very clean and modern, nice touches (e.g. quality toiletries) and a great location close to the old town & sites and a short walk from the station. The only reason it didn’t get top rating is that (as it says on the listing) many rooms have a shared bathroom (& toilet). How much of an inconvenience this will be depends on the individual, but it is easy to overlook when evaluating alternatives - and we regretted not going for a more expensive, en-suite option. Whilst the room might be cheap for the area, it seems expensive for a room lacking this essential amenity.

Might as well stay in a cheaper hostel
My bed was one of the least comfortable beds I've ever stayed in and my room was next to the communal bathroom so I was woken all night with people going to the bathroom.

We assume that you stayed in a room with shared bathroom. Our rooms with shared bathroom are very simply furnished and are thus also offered at cheaper prices. The prices vary depending on the request. According to the results of the competition analysis, these are comparable to the prices for a room in the Youth Hostel St.Gallen. Our location is very central and our breakfast buffet is very rich. The price for breakfast for an external guest is CHF 22.50. We are sorry that the night has been restless and you felt disturbed by the noise of the other guests. Of course, we would be glad if you would try our design rooms. These are equipped with shower / WC. Best regards

Good hotel in the city center
Good big room with a big bed - the shares shower facility was ok, I didn’t have to wait to use it. It looks new and well appointed. Location wise it’s very good and in the center of the city, close to the Cathedral. Didn’t manage to eat breakfast, so can’t comment on that.

Clean place to rest your head
We had a twin room (2 twin beds on different sides of the room) with a shared bathroom. It was the only choice left in rooms. It wasn't anything special but it was clean and gave us a place to rest our head.

Great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dom. The room was nice and modern. We had a small balcony. The bathroom had just a shower. We could not locate any electrical outlets next to the bed, they were across the room, They do have a few parking spaces for CH 15 per night. The hotel is in a great location near old town.

Perfect central location for visit
We were staying in St. Gallen for a Seminar in nearby Herisau. The Hotel Dom turned out to be a nice surprise. The fresh, modern and comfortable rooms were slightly on the smallish side, but perfectly adquate for a short stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel overall very clean, modern and well kept. The location in the center of the old town was perfect . The lovely buildings, lots of bars, cafés and some of the typical "upper-floor" restaurants as well as the impressive baroque Abbey of Saint Gall nearby served well to entertain us for the evening.

Clean, comfortable modern room. Extra bonus for using L'occitane shampoo, shower gel, and hand soap. Close to the Abbey. Friendly service. We enjoyed the communal coffee break room where you can buy a beer or soft drink, self service. Breakfast was good.

The single room was well designed and, though small, of quite adequate size for one person. It had only a sink with a mixing tap, a well-lit mirror over it, but the toilet and shower were across (toilet) and down (shower) the hallway. Despite my initial trepidation, it worked okay. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff were to a person absolutely brilliant, helpful, cheerful and kind. Hotel Dom's location is ideal for seeing St Gall and for visiting the Stiftsbibliothek (my mission). Also the distance from the rail station is easily walkable as long as you don't have a huge amount of luggage or difficulty walking. The staff will replace the feather duvet with synthetic if asked. There was no carpet, but that is a plus for asthmatics such as myself.

Just one shower room per floor. Two restrooms on each floor, one of which is in the bathroom. Breakfast is included and is pretty good. Rooms are clean.

For our rooms with running water are 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets available in the morning. In the evening just 1 bathroom and two toilets. The design rooms are all equipped with shower / WC. Location was close to downtown but not in downtown. Facility was rather run down. Definately not fancy, nor did the staff leave any impression of welcoming.
Hello Thank you for taking time to give us your feedback about our house. Unfortunately you have rated the hotel Anonymous and therefore I can not track which room category you have booked. As you probably know, we offer two room categories. On the one hand our renovated Design rooms and on the other hand our simple rooms with running water. Our house is located in the middle of the old town – just a few steps away of the Shopping streets. So, in our opinion, our house is situated very central. Therefore I can not fully understand your feedback about the location. That you did not feel welcome, I am very sorry. In principle, we receive a lot of feedback that our staff is very friendly and helpful. It surprises me that you have not felt welcome. Was there a special situation or in general? Best 3* Hotel ever
I landed in Zurich, and then took a train to St Gallen, without any rest last night. On arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the hotel staff, and basically it was far earlier to check in, but after I explained to her I did not sleep at all. She quickly arranged a room for me in 3 min without any hesitate. The room was cozy and clean. I fell asleep straightaway, on the comfortable bed. It was the best quality hotel I paid for all my business trips. Will definitely stay in Dom Hotel for the future. Thank Judith for her kind help and warm welcome.

Very pleasant hotel with welcoming staff. Comfortable but not luxurious. Expensive by UK terms but this was Switzerland! Could have done with a bit more variety at breakfast!

Very happy with this hotel
Because of flight delays and airplane delays I didn't arrive until 2:30 am but they still held my room and checked me in no problem. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The front desk directed me to the nearest grocery store and got me an ironing board for my work shirt. The location was good, altogether I was very pleased. The shower was designed in a way that if you put the shower head a certain way, water would leak out into the rest of the bathroom. But that problem was easily solved by pointing the shower in the direction of the wall instead of the direction of the glass doors. I was very pleased with this hotel and would stay there again with pleasure.
