“Close to downtown St George”

The room had a nice fridge / microwave / coffee maker and flat screen TV..Breakfast was provided in the lobby between 7-11 a.m.

“Took me back 50 years in time!”

Two big beds in a small room. Filthy carpet. Thank God we didn't want anything more than a short nights sleep to break up the long road trip home to San Diego county. This place could be quite nice if it were better maintained. It took me back 50 years in time when I had to take the cheapest room I could find when I traveled. Anyway the beds were better than a cot in a tent and we had no reports of bed bug bites. I had a better opinion of Howard Johnson motels... That opinion has now gone down quite a bit. I will not make that mistake again. At least the towels were clean and fresh. We used three Expiedia "bargain deal" hotels on a quickly organized trip to Salt Lake City for a relatives funeral. The first two were great rooms at a bargain price. This one didn't turn out so well. Two out of three isn't bad, so I can't fault Expedia.

“good stop over hotel”

Breakfast is limited and hotel needs repairs but the neighborhood is fine and it is a quick on and off to the freeway.

“Really can carpet be that dirty”

I read the reviews before I went a couldn't believe that carpet in a hotel could be that bad - IT CAN!. Housekeeping needs some real help.

“Good cheap business hotel”

I had stayed at this hotel before and will again when I'm in town for business. The location is good for me and the rooms are nice, especially the ones with kitchenettes.

“Never Again”

The room seemed okay at first, but we arrived at 1:30 am and we were all exhausted from travelling. When we woke up the next morning, we realized how filthy the floor was. My son's white socks, which were clean when I put them on the night before, were black just from walking around on the carpet. The management did not seem to care too much about this complaint. If the carpet is that filthy, how dirty was everything else?

“pleasantly surprised”

When we booked the hotel, we were a little worried, the price was great but, sometimes the hotel is a dump for this price. Not this hotel. It was a great deal. The breakfast was good, bisquits and gravy and fresh fruit was nice. The pool was a little small but the bbq grill at the pool was great. We were very happy with our stay and will stay again next time we are in the area.

“Dirty carpets and homeless people around”

This hotel was so filthy and disgusting. After checking in, we went shopping and came back to the hotel to find two homeless people were being confronted by police right by our car. The carpets were so filthy dirty that the bottom of our feet turned black. We did not even up staying the night. It was worth it to us to make the drive back home. Our family also came home very sick after the few hours after swimming in the pool at the hotel. I will never stay in another Howard Johnson Hotel.

Area recommendations

I would recommend staying at the Comfort Suites and Hotel or the Best Western Abbey Inn. I have stayed in these hotels as well in St. George.
