A nice place to stay in Springdale

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: The staff are very friendly and accomodating to the guests.
Cons: the facilities are older at this hotel and it could do with some investment.
Location: Springdale is a great town with lots of nice shops and facilities. You will easily find things to do for a few days here.
We loved Zion National Park and this hotel was a good place to stay to access the park

Not worth the great location

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: The hotel is right in the middle of town and you can walk everywhere, just park your car for your entire stay and use the town shuttle or walk.
Cons: Remodel the rooms, the wear and tear was too much, and the smell was something that really got to me.
Location: Zion National Park is one of the most amazing places I have ever been, the hiking is incredible and we will be back for sure.
After watching the video of the hotel on their website I thought this might be a nice little hotel close to Zion, I knew it was not some 4 star resort, but it was pretty disappointing. The staff was nice, but the rooms were dark and uncomfortable. There was also a strong musty smell the was trying to be covered up on cleaning products. I think the rooms just need to be renovated, our carpet was so old that you could see the wear marks from the vacuum cleaner running over it so many times. I don't think they aren't cleaning well, I just think stuff is so used and old that it is beyond cleaning. I don't know this for sure, but I think our room used to be a smoking room and was at some point transitioned into a non smoking room. Any hotel that tries to do this is just kidding themselves, unless you strip the walls down to the studs and put up new drywall, carpet pad, and carpet, you will never get that nastiness out.

Nice, clean, nearby

Good! Right in town, close to restaurants, shops, and park access. Very clean. We were just there for one quick night. It was a little tight and I wouldn't have wanted to stay there for a week but perfect a stopover.

Good location, friendly staff

Location: Lot's of restaurants and Zion National Park. We parked at the hotel and didn't get in our car again until it was time to drive home.
My wife and I visited Zion National Park for our first anniversary. We chose to stay at the Pioneer Lodge which is a decent hotel. What we loved about the room is the outdoorsy feel. All of the furniture was from wood and had an outdoor feel. The bed was comfortable and inviting. We had trouble getting the heater to work, but there was a space heater in the room that we ended up using. The staff was very friendly, too, and let us check-in an hour early! They also have a coffee shop in the lobby that was fairly inexpensive with very tasty drinks. I'd definitely stay there again!

Small hotel close to everything.

Pros: Not an oversized chain. Homey. Half off breakfast at the Pioneer restaurant can't be beat. Price is ok also.
Cons: Parking - small lot filled with BIG vehicles. An off site lot for the suburban's and oversized trucks and vans (pulling trailers) would be great.
Location: Fun little shops and restaurants close by. Near the town bus stops so Zion is easily accessible.
Enjoyed our stay at the Pioneer and visit to Zion. Hope to return.

Excellent hotel near Zion

This place was perfect. Had two rooms with four guests each. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Good location with a short drive into the heart of Zion. The pool and hot tub were a nice touch as well.
