Perfect location for Zion. Great place with charm. For the price, can't beat the value. Nice and toasty on a cold night.

Great location.

Room was great with a kitchenette. Unfortunately, the bed was not so comfortable... Location was close to Zion and within walking distance of restaurants.

Fun in Zion NP

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Its proximity to the national park.
Cons: Better water pressure in the shower.
Location: It is a short drive to the entrance to the national park. And, there are plenty of choices within easy walking for restaurants and shopping.
This lodge is a great choice when visiting Zion NP. The room was comfortable and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Very convenient to nearby restaurants and Zion!!!!

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Checked in very late, the staff was nice enough to have everything printed and the keys waiting for me upon arrival! We woke up early in the morning and they had coffee waitingn; plus the diner right next to the hotel is AMAZING!! I would reccommend the spinach, tomatoe and feta omlet! Great place to stay a few nights for some rest!!

Affordable hotel & clean

Posted Oct 31, 2014
The welcoming and reception was a bit rough. Other than that the room was clean and could accomodate our stay. Coffee machine was not working and was filthy when I mentionned to the other receptionist the next morning she was pretty cold about it

Affordable with character.

Pros: Great location. Close to Zion entrance, shuttle stops, and great restaurants.
Location: Zion National park, shopping, restaurants. Beautiful scenery. Free shuttle buses. Wild life viewing.
This is our second time staying at the Pioneer. Best value for the money. Excellent views. The AC made some clicking noises, but that was just our particular room. (I should have said something so that they could fix it.) The rest of the motel seemed quiet at night even though it is right on the main street. Also, parking is tight at this lodge. Not a lot of room to maneuver a large vehicle, so don't plan on parking there with an extended cab pick up truck. We had a jeep & that was great.

Good value, great view

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: Clean, great location.Microwave and fridge in the room.
Cons: A set of sheer curtains so you can get daylight but have privacy. Smaller furniture for more room to maneuver.
Location: Galleries, restaurants and very close to zion entrance and not far from an overpriced supermarket
We had a canyon view with a beautiful view of the mountains around us. Because the windows are right on the walkway though, you don't really get to enjoy the view if you want any privacy. The location is great, just minutes from the entrance to the park and you can walk to a number of shops, restaurants and galleries. It was quiet and clean. Not a lot of extra space to move around, but it worked great for a few nights.

Lots of smokers, cramped parking

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Location - close to Zion National Park
Cons: PLEASE re-stripe the parking spaces so that cars are not inches from each other!
Location: Zion National Park
Lots of smokers, cramped parking This is a "historical" lodge that obviously has been remodeled, with updated countertop, jacuzzi in some rooms, etc. The rooms are all supposed to be non-smoking, but right out of the rooms in the hall way, there are ash trays outside EVERY room, and every one of them has at least half a dozen butts in them! I guess the common standards of no smoking within 25 feet of any entrance to a building does not apply here :( Even when we are inside our locked room, sometimes we smelled a bit of smoke, and we know people were standing outside smoking again. The parking stripes seem to be way too narrow for the modern bigger cars. Even though we stayed during Utah's Fall Break, most (>70%) of the license plates in the parking lot had California plates (& lots of them SUVs). Lots of different accents were heard on the property. This may account for the high number of smokers. The front desk staff were disengaged and cold, not eager to help at all. The on-site restaurant was closed with no explanation.

Nice Hotel near Zion Park Entrance and City Center

Posted Oct 21, 2014
This is a great little hotel snuggled in the city center of Springdale and only a 5 minute shuttle ride from the park entrance. For the price you can beat it. My only recommendation is to request a room on the second floor because the walls are pretty thin. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone.
