Sands Motel

We got a room for a real cheap price, but "clean" isn't a word I'd use to describe that roon

We arrived really late at night, still people outside their rooms smoking. The door frame around the door let a lot of light in, although the lock seemed secure it was slightly uncomfortable. The carpeting was dark and gave me a dirty feeling. The room and bed were clean otherwise and the bathroom looked recently remodeled and clean. The breakfast included was a short walk to the next door hotel, consisted of cups full of waffle mix that seemed yellowed and old. The coffee condiments were powdered creamer and one type of sweetener. We couldn't find it within ourselves to eat there. We got a very cheap price and only needed a place to crash during a long drive, so it was satisfactory, but we chose a different place just up the street for the same price and found it to be better on our way back.

Very clean and well kept hotel for the money. I have stayed in similarly priced hotels in other states and they were very crappy in comparison. The beds are not the best but you can't expect luxury for $55.

it was not a pleasant stay air conditioner very noisy and it cooled only the Hall by call and the bathroomthe stuff what staff sorry news people that would not understand English very well thank you and goodbye

Upon entering Room 106, the carpet was filty and the room was freezing cold. We turned on the heater which was in the closet. It took 4 hours before the room was comfortable enough to enjoy being in the room. It had lovely tile where the bed was as well as in the bathroom but was very cold on the feet. It also had a lovely flat-screen TV, microwave and refrigerator. (No ice trays for ice). We had to go next door to the Coronada Motel for the continental breakfast and indoor pool and hot tub. The ad was very misleading. So, therefore, I rate this motel as undesireable. VBL

I have stayed here several times before and am fully aware that this is a budget hotel, so do not ever have many expectations. I am not sure if their cleaning crew quit or just doesn't do as good of job as in the past, but our room was horribly dirty. There was food from the previous guests all over the floor. Our pillow cases looked so dirty and dingy that we put tshirts over them to sleep. I was standing at the sink brushing my teeth in the morning and a cockroach crawled out of the sink. You get what you pay for, but it still should be sanitary. Completely grossed out and will NEVER go back!

The room was great for the price that I paid for it. I will stay here again in the future.

My friends and I stayed here for one night. Cheap motel well located, and good to stop by while on the road

This is a very old motel, but they are trying to update it. Our room was very clean, the mattress was a little stiff, but overall for the price it was fine. The biggest inconvenience was the fact that there wasn't an outlet for my curling iron in the bathroom. When we checked in the front desk guy wasn't very friendly or helpful. He didn't give us any information regarding the pool, hot tub, or free breakfast. The next morning the girl that helped us check out was very friendly. I would stay here again if funds were tight.

We were tired from driving and it was comfortable.
