“I would return to this hotel,”

this was a great location for my children and I. We attended the grey-blue combine for my son. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would recommend the hotel to others.

“Quiet & comfortable business stay.”

I booked through Expedia.com, so for a very good price, I stayed for two nights, did not expect maid service, but got it. The room was clean, bathroom was good, no smell, easy to get in and out of parking lot. I had a ground floor room, there was a party in the next room. I could hear them bringing in lots of bottles but did not hear them once they were in the room. The motel is located on a cross road for two highways, the traffic noise was not bad. The location is a little ways outside of town.

“Good solid place to stay”

It is a nice hotel close to the interstate. It was easy to get in and out of. The staff was polite and capable.

“Not a great place unless you like smelling curry”

We actually stayed at this hotel twice. This being the first day and again a week later on Sunday 9/16/2012. We were satisfied with the first night, but totally disappointed on the second night which was on our way back from South Dakota. Our first surprise was that even though my confirmation showed the room "prepaid," we were told by the front desk clerk that the information she had said that we had the reservation, but that we would have to pay for the room as her computer didn't show "prepaid." As we had been on the road for over 12 hours, we decided not to argue and went ahead and "paid for the room a second time." My wife will be contacting Expedia this coming week to resolve that issue. More importantly, the second night, 9/16/2012 and on the morning of 9/17/2012 when we went to check out, the "curry smell" was so strong that we didn't even stay long enough to take advantage of the continental breakfast because of the curry smell. Was enough to make both of us "gag" and we checked out and left. I will not use this hotel again. And I would recommend everhyone check out the office before signing in.

“Overall a good place especially on a budget”

Wish I had chosen a hotel closer to town, but this hotel was good especially if you're on a budget, don't require many amenities, and are staying for a short time.

“Super 8 was a super deal.”

All six of us in the two rooms had a very nice stay. My room had a floor lamp with an electrical problem and the shower rod was broken but still useable. The complimentary breakfast was attractive, tasty and adequate. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The price was right and I'd stay again!

“It was decent”

It was an ok hotel. The pool was out of service and full of pond scum, the continental breakfast was the worse Ive ever seen. There was hardly anything to choose from to eat. The bed was comfortable. One thing they do not tell you is that it is right next to a truck stop, so you can hear the trucks coming in and out all day and night. House keeping in general seems pretty good. It was a decent stay, but I dont think I would stay again unless I had to. It was easy to find.

“Comfortable place although!”

This was a nice place to stay and reasonable in price although there was only 2 pillows on a king size bed and two towels in the bathroom. It seemed unusual to me. The city is a friendly and great place to visit.

“A few things you should know before booking a room at this hotel!”

This Super 8 hotel is a 2 story hotel. The stairway and hallway is along the outside of the building and there is no elevator. According to the desk clerk, they do not receive any special requests added to the Expedia reservation. This put us in an awkward position. I called this hotel directly, after making this reservation online, approx. 2 weeks prior to our visit to St. Joseph. I requested one of our rooms to be a handicap room, as we were traveling with my elderly parents, and my mom uses a walker to get around. They said it was not a guarantee that I would get a handicap room, but they would see what they could do. Upon arrival, I was given 2 rooms on the second floor, (the handicap rooms were not available). However, my mom was not able to walk the flight of stairs to the second floor. After getting very upset, the clerk, finally switched a reservation from the first floor to the 2nd, and gave me that room for my parents. Because this was a prepaid, non refundable 3 night stay over a holiday, I accepted. My room on the 2nd floor was acceptable, however my parents room smelled very strongly of mold and mildew. They didn't seem to mind, but with my allergies, I could not stay in the room. This hotel is located on South Hwy 169, and I-29. Hwy 169 traveling North becomes the Beltway, where you can find restaurants, fast food, shopping, etc. Overall, we had a good time in St. Joseph and Kansas City area. The pool looked nice, but nobody was swimming in it.
