“Not the place for foodies”
AC was on full and made the room 65 degrees. Even after the mechanic came it was not fixed and we ended up turning it off. Food at the resort restaurants was mediocre and overpriced and options outside the resort was hard to get to.
“Can't wait to go back!”
Very friendily staff. We really enjoyed the hotel. The room was great and the beach was beautiful. I wished there was a more casual dining restaurant in the hotel. For the evening hours, I think there would be a big market for that, e.g burgers, sandwiches, small meals etc. Also the beach was so beautiful, it was sad to see garbage and paper in the water. We felt that if someone made sure the beach was picked up it would be even better. Regardless, it was a beautiful week! Thank-you
“Beautiful island”
St. Kitts is beautiful island. Marriott hotel room and grounds were great. However service in restaurant was awful. Breakfast was included in room rate but the service every morning was terrible. They need better management. Same goes for the lobby bar and the pizza shack bar. 10% service charge is included so there is no incentive for workers to actually provide decent service.
“This is an experience that I would repeat.”
I found the hotel and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The casino was full of life and fun. The seafood restaurant was superb! Yes, I would recommend this hotel to friends.
“Awesome St. Kitts”
Having a walking disability and newly diagnosed gluten sensitivity, I was quite anxious about my being able to enjoy a lengthy time away from home. After contacting the food service staff, they assured me they deal with special food requests all of the time. Upon arrival, the staff met with me and my family and discussed meal options and accommodations. There was the ability to have special meals prepared, also using food I brought, and a wide array of offerings that could be tweaked on ordering. The location was near enough to most sights and attractions for walking or calling a cab for a small fare. Of all the other beaches visited in the area, none compared in beauty or accessibility. We were so delighted, we are talking of returning again.
“Had a good time - definitely room for improvement from Marriot”
The hotel was nice - not the best we've stayed in - but we enjoyed our trip. There's a great view of the island to the right of the hotel and from the observation tower. Great gym and a few restaurants in the hotel. The beach is full of rocks, so be careful swimming. There are also a few panhandlers on the Marriott beach. Only complaints - the entire island is new to tourism and they don't yet "get it". It's not your typical Marriott "my pleasure to serve you" attitude. Many of the staff were inattentive, uninterested and a few were downright rude. They didn't seem to care or want to be there. There were however some great staff exceptions but if you are used to staying with Marriott or Starwood, the bar is much lower. Most of the top oceanfront views were blocked by trees. The beds were lumpy and the pillows were soft, so after a few days our necks and backs were hurting. There are some fabulous restaurants on the island (like The Beach House and Spice Mill) but none are nearby. We ventured out most nights but paid a hefty cab fare; it's worth it for a select few restaurants. Do take a tour of the island with a cab driver. It's stunning! George or "big belly" was exceptional. He took us all over and is full dates, history and interesting details of the island. He's a rare, educated gem. Overall, I think we'd probably come back, but not until after they've completed the new Christophe Harbour development, when there will be more to do on the island.
“Marvelous Marriott”
The St. Kitts Marriott is an excellent resort. Well laid out, beautiful gorunds, sensational view, great service, prompt response to requests, Awesome Island!!! Lovely people. Lots of entertainment and shopping nearby. WORTH IT. Going back next year
“Loved the Hotel!”
Hotel and the ground it was on was beautiful. The view from our balcony was amazing. I was not happy with the price of the food. I think it was way too expensive. I don't think I will be back. The surrounding areas were dirty and I didn't feel safe. I expect to pay more when on vacation but, this was outrageously over priced. I can say i've been there but, not sure if I would recommend this to anyone else. The price of things and the surrounding areas were a big turn off.
