Good valuePosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Condo unit close to a safe beach.
Cons: Softer beds, more reliable hot water system.
Location: .Ideal for swimming, snorkeling. Close to Basseterre, ferry to Nevis, train tour ($12-16 cab fare).
We stayed in a 1BR condo farthest from the Strip (i.e. quietest location, but most distant view of the sea). For us, it was ideal. You can still hear/feel the base vibes on weekend nights from the Strip, but the BR is in the back, away from the strip. The bed was hard, and hot water (solar heat) was not for the impatient. The full kitchen was sufficient. There is a grocery store and a number of decent restaurants within walking distance. It's not as luxurious as the Marriott, but the Caribbean beach was one you could swim at with safety. Snorkeling from the beach was some of the best I have found anywhere. Hotel staff was helpful with arranging excursions. We would stay there again!

Repeat customer in love with it.Posted Nov 15, 2013
Cons: more attention to details on longer stays, such as replenish coffee supply and all towels.
Location: All the action is right there and the best restaurants.
Very conveniently located right by the "strip" with all amenities, on the beach and a gorgeous swimming pool. Deck bar with live music and restaurant with awesome frozen drinks, especially pinacoladas, you have to try them, like anything I ever had!

Perfect location and helpful, friendly staffPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The staff are great, location is perfect.
Cons: Bar prices are expensive.
Location: On the beach next to beach bars and beachside restaurants and a 5 minute walk from small supermarket and 2 more formal restaurants.
Timothy Beach sits right on the beach at Frigate Bay so you can walk from your room to the sea in minutes. It's also at the end of "The Strip" which is a lively night time area for restaurants, bars and music - although we weren't ever disturbed by night time noise as the rooms are set back away from the beach/bar area. Timothy Beach is a comfortable, friendly, local hotel. We had a few minor problems in the room, for example an outside light was shining in through an uncovered window at night and we asked if they could help. They hung up a makeshift towelling curtain for that night and the next day fitted a blind so we were more than happy with the speed and the solutions. Probably the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Things are pretty relaxed and easy going but everyone is extremely friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay there again.

Just RightPosted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: The location is pretty perfect. Adjacent to a decent beach, easy walk to a bunch of good restaurants and a small market.
Cons: The entire beachside patio area down to the water is functional but could use a major renovation. Tear up the concrete. Don't paint the palm trees.
Location: Key tips: 1) rent a car 2) Caribelle Batik 3) Shipwreck 4) Sandy Point beach 5) Bombay Blues 6) Rock Lobster 7) Cathy's 8) Ritual coffee
Having visited other Caribbean islands, from St. Bart's to the Turks and Caicos, we chose St. Kitt's on a whim and came to appreciate its diamond-in-the-rough beauty, old-school charm and, most especially, the warmth of the islanders. One night we got very lost driving to Ottley's restaurant and stopped next to a small backyard party in the middle of nowhere and asked for help. One of the guys offered to hop in his truck and and lead us to a roundabout going in the right direction, but he ended up taking us all the way to Ottley's, some 20 minutes away. Amazing kindness. Unless you want to take cabs, you really do need a rental car and it's probably cheaper in the end. There are no road signs and apparently no maps to be had either: be prepared to wander and explore. Avoid the tacky cruise ship downtown area. We checked out the casino and were glad we weren't staying there. Found a couple pristine, largely uninhabited beaches but bring your own portable umbrella and chairs. Brimstone Hill is kinda cool, Caribelle Batik has some beautiful work & well-priced. Shipwreck is a great, friendly place for lunch and sunbathing. The snorkeling is only ok, but we may have missed the best spots. TB has a so-so restaurant, but Rituals Coffee is down the street and has better coffee and breakfast. The Dock bar is just right for sunset drinks and Clovis is The Man. Our one BR suite was spacious with good A/C, an unpredictable shower, but a pretty comfortable king bed.

Bit secluded but nice placePosted Sep 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Dock Restaurant is a little pricey but food is great. American $ used as easy as EC $ but a bit of a walk to any ATM (Nearest ATM that yields American $ is in the Marriott). Not really close to island activities so expect either a bus or cab fare to any activity sites. Hotel is right down by the beach with beautiful views of the island across Frigate Bay. There are beach bars along the oceanfront, though a few were closed during our stay (not sure if they are just closed for the season as September is hurricane season or indefinitely) and staff was helpful with anything we asked about even if many activities ran less often because of the season.

Pros: The view.
Cons: Bed to bad not comfortable at all. The desk attendant not helpful.
Location: is good.
It was good en general but few things can improve. Bed was not comfortable and the people there can be more friendly.

Nice hotel on the Caribbean side of St. KittsPosted Sep 3, 2013
I have stayed at this hotel twice before but I must say that the upgrades that were made including the beach bar and the pool area were really welcome. The bathroom in our 1 bedroom suite was completely remodeled and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was great and the room was always clean. The grounds were immaculate as well. The desk staff were most helpful with everything and offered great advice on meals out etc. We had the best driver ever while we were there. If you go, ask the desk to put you in touch with Bouncer. He was very pleasant, conscientious and knowledgeable about the island. He took good care of 3 single women. For a trip to St. Kitts that is not Americanized as the Marriott, I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful beach resort on "the Strip"Posted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
I love this resort. The people who work there are so nice and the location is incredible. That beach has the best restaurants and bars and is great for swimming and shelling...way better than the Atlantic side! Awesome place to stay!
