“Exceeded expectations”

The Cristina looked good on the web and was even better "in the flesh". All of the staff were polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very comfortable and the view over the bay made our stay complete. The only downside was the access for a car, which could be awkward if there was a lot of traffic about, but this did not spoil the overall pleasure of our stay.

“Very impressed once room changed from that booked via Expedia”

The hotel was very responsive to a change rooms request as the one booked via Expedia was unacceptable. The first room was dark, at the back of the hotel and overlooked the rubbish collection area!! The staff in reception, the dining room, bar and the lady cleaning our room were exceptionally helpful. The hotel was a delight to be in from the start to the finish of our holiday.

Hotel staff very helpful.We arrived early but we were able to register and leave cases. When we returned early afternoon cases in room with sea view great start to holiday. Restarant lovely views great lovely atmosphere. Hotel on hill so steep walk to beach not a problem for us but would be difficult for some. Thank you.

“very impressed - pity about the power cut!”

My wife and I have stayed at the Cristina's sister hotel, the Golden Sands where we were very satisfied with every aspect of the hotel. We found the same conditions at the Cristina, particularly during a power cut when they tried to keep everyone informed of the situation and coped extremely well under the circumstances. Full marks all round to everyone.

“An Excellent Hotel”

Very pleased with the hotel. The staff were all extremely polite and very helpful. Room was lovely and the view over the bay was gorgeous! Everything was lovely and clean too! I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Jersey. Small down-side was the access to the hotel but I overcame that by driving just a bit further up the road, taking a turning on the right and turning round at the end of that road - that way you approach with the hotel access on your right making things a lot easier! Don't be put off by that - I would visit again any time :-)

Staff were all very welcoming. Food was excellent. Views were wonderful. All in all, we would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Hotel lovely, location view great but a long way from restaurants,”

We had 4 days at Cristina in September 2008. The hotel was helpful, clean, spacious room, great food in restaurant. View over St Aubin bay was superb (if it hadn't rained the whole time) Whilst this is definitely not a criticism, at 40, we reduced the average guest age to about half! It was a little like Bournemouth and although we found people to chat to, it would have been much better for us if we'd been in St Aubin itself, which is a lovely little town/village with lots of choices of eateries. The walk from the hotel to St Aubin was about a mile or so, which was a long way given the pouring rain, and we resorted to the bus. We tried St Helier on Sunday night for a meal - it was completely closed and useless. Also, it felt a bit seedy, so we got on the bus all the way back to St Aubin for another night at our preferred restaurant. The best place we found to eat was a pub lunch in a beach front pub at the start of the 5 mile coast road at St Oen. This was good quality, good value and a great menu - crab claws, moules and all the other usual restaurant items, served well and with very friendly service. Also, it had a real pub feel. Don't mistake it for the rather tacky 'diner' for the surfers halfway along the coast road.

“Wonderful view but beware the road into it!”

I would have valued a warning about the extremely sharp and dangerous entrance / exit from the road - it was not possible to execute a direct left turn coming up Mont Felord from the Bay. A lot of banging from people using an emergency door outside our bedroom (Room 313). The self-service breakfast was very good but eggs either over or under-done! Nice choice of drinks and fruit. Room doors quite old fashioned and locks not the easist - a move to swipe-card type locks would be good. Very limited TV Channels. I may be a bit unappreciative but I did not like the duo on Tuesday evening in the bar - the man was very good but not so much his female companion. Non-existant ferry trips on the Daily Bulletin to Gurnsey / Sark etc. - not running during the week now the main Season is over - I would have appreciated more exact information. Bedroom very nice and clean. Well worth booking a room with Sea View / Veranda (although veranda very small). Given the trek from the Bay a car is needed for the less fit / ambulant. This was our 4th. trip to Jersey this year and the Hotel Christina was not disappointing

“Good stay”

A charming hotel with well appointed room, excellent dining room and good bar meals. Unfortunately no lift to rooms in the old wing (not sure if there are in the new wing). The staff were very pleasant and efficient. A very pleasant holiday experience.
