Very resident friendly.

With the current construction not-so-easy to get to, but worth the effort! Very secure, clean and friendly. The shuttle to and from the Cardinal games was a PLUS!

Good Basic Accomodations

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: It was attached to a casino so it had a couple of dining options right there which was convenient. The free breakfast buffet was basic but fine.
Cons: Had to wait a while to check in since the two ladies at the desk did not seem to hurry themselves even though there were several people waiting.
Location: The location was farther from downtown and the Arch than we thought, actually across the river. A run down area, nothing around but the Casino.
We wanted a place to sleep on the first night of a road trip and this fit the bill: Basic clean quiet room, free parking and free breakfast. We paid $10.00 extra for a view of the Arch, and when we were given one on the opposite side of the hotel they changed it. (We wasted time going up and down to the desk and lugging stuff back and forth - but oh well) Note: if you want a scenic view, don't accept a room on the third floor or you just see roofs and poles and wires along with the view. Also, on the map this looked really close to the arch but was actually across the river - definitely not the kind of "close" we wanted. Overall, everything was acceptable and pretty much what we wanted.

Queen with a view

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location, security, size, cleanliness
Cons: I could see some wear on the edge of the end tables and dressers, but, it did not make a big negative in my book.
Location: Metro access makes it super easy to hit the hot spots in St. Louis.
The Casino Queen in E. St. Louis is a good deal. There is a lot of security, so you don't need to have any concerns about your parking or hotel at all. Very easy access to the Metro. The rooms were large and very clean. If you can get a room with a view of the river, do that. I would stay there again, no problem.

Nice hotel across the river from St. Louis

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: View of the Gateway Arch and city skyline was beautiful. Room was comfortable, staff was pleasant.
Cons: Better signs to find it! We drove over the bridge and couldn't find the access road. Had to call the hotel desk and ask for help. Put up some signs!
On a short vacation for sight-seeing. Wanted to stay in downtown St Louis, but the only rooms left were very expensive. Opted for this place just across the river. Reasonably priced. East St. Louis IL is not a nice place but you really don't have to go there, as the hotel is just on the Illinois side of the river, just over the bridge.Nice view of the Arch and city skyline. The casino next door offers a sports bar, a buffet that looks sort of like a food court, and one other restaurant. The sports bar offers good burgers and sandwiches. We had one dinner at the buffet place and liked it (lots of choices). We had tix to a Cardinals game and the hotel has a free shuttle to and from the ballpark. Warning - people not staying at the hotel show up to ride the shuttle and if there's not room you might not get a seat. The hotel should make sure that people paying to stay there get guaranteed transportation. Hotel staff is pleasant, as were the servers at the casino restaurants. Two minor issues - the hotel and room had a strong scent of whatever cleaner/disinfectant they use. The airconditioner in the room was somewhat noisy. If not for those things I would have given it all 5's.

The beds are Horrible !

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: The staff was awesome
Cons: The beds it was a miserable 4 nights
Location: The ball park and the village was awesome. Food was great at the steak house in the Casino.
The beds were horrible. A hole in the middle of one and they were hard as a piece of plywood.

The room smelled like an old ash tray even though it was a non-smoking room. The hotel is beginning to show its age. The free continental breakfast was a joke. The coffee was colored water and the use of styrofoam cups and disposable plates and plastic ware are not environmentally friendly. The cost of the rooms keep raising and the hotel services keep getting cut.

Nice hotel near St.Louis

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: Near the Baseball Stadium with a shuttle.
Cons: new pillows
Location: all of St Louis and nearby shopping centers
The experience was better than expected, the bed pillows need to be replaced.
