Somewhat disappointed

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Location and history. Staff was great. Room service very good.
Cons: Make sure the rooms are clean when one checks in.
Location: Central West End is very trendy, the Loop & University City are nearby and the Fox Theater is only 10 minutes away.
While our overall stay was pleasing there were some glaring problems with the room. When we arrived at our room it appeared that the room had not been cleaned or had been cleaned but only paritally. There was dirty wet towels on the floor of the bath room and the overall cleanliness of the room was fair at best. The hotel took care of the cleaning while we were out but it was still a disappointing first impression. Ordered room service the food was excellent. Getting a cab in St. louis can be a hassle. If you have a room overlooking Kingshighway and the park be prepared to hear sirens all day and night, major hospital complexes twp blocks away.

Centrally Located

Posted Apr 8, 2014
The standard room was spacious. It was not, however, very clean. It looked like it had not been vacuumed. The buffet breakfast at the restaurant in the main hall was mediocre, at best. Breakfast is from 8 to 11, I arrived at 9 o'clock, and the buffet had been totally eaten through, and not refreshed with new foods. The selection was very minimal. For $19.95 a head, I would expect more of a selection. This is a high-end hotel, which is why my expectations were great deal higher. Because of the great location, and the concierge staff was impressive, I give it four stars.

Thank you for taking the time to detail your experience. Our concierge associates will be so pleased to know that they left you with a positive impression of their efforts. Service is of great importance to us and we hope to offer our guests the very best in all ways. With that being said, we must apologize if your encounter while dining was not as positive or if our buffet items were not replenished to your satisfaction during your visit. Providing fresh, hot selections is imperative and we will use your comments to do better. We hope you will visit us again so that we can provide you with an even better experience.

Little problems added up.

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Good location, access to shops and dining, beautiful lobby.
Cons: individual room needed to be checked.
Very nice hotel with beautiful lobby and fresh flowers there. Our bed was comfortable, however the blinds in the bathroom were broken. The phone in one room of our suite did not work at all....no dial tone. Also, we needed to request bedding for the sofa bed.

Beautiful hotel overlooking Forest Park

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: It was a well-kept, beautiful building with lots of character.
We stayed two nights in a one bedroom suite with a fold out couch. It was plenty of room for our family of four. The staff at the hotel were courteous and prompt with requests. Our room had a beautiful view of Forest Park. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the Metrolink.

Beautiful, historic hotel by Forest Park

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Stayed 3 nights while visiting St Louis for the first time. Hotel was beautiful, well maintained, clean, and the staff was very friendly. The style made me feel like I had been transported back to the days of glamour and luxury at hotels without being snooty. It provided great accessibility to all the sites and universities also!

Location was wonderful!

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Furniture could be updated and cleaned up a bit. The hotel was old and wonderful, but the furnishings shouldn't be.
Location: Trendy area with lots of coffee shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
Great location because it was walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. A little more expensive than needed to be - could use a bit of an update.

Nice hotel in Forest Park Area

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: The hotel is on the historic registry and our room was very nice. We would stay there again.
The Chase Park Plaza is a great location as it is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The only drawback to the location is the proximity to Barnes Jewish Hospital. The ambulance sirens woke me every night. The hotel bar had a great seating area outside of the cinema where I was able to read while the kids went to the movies. The desserts were excellent. The Sunday brunch is supposedly award winning. It's $42/person and didn't look like enough for that price. We had reservations, but didn't stay to eat. Our waitress couldn't explain the details of the brunch in English and the manager actually yelled at me when I tried to get something from the "breakfast" side of the restaurant instead of the brunch side.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about your stay with us. Our location certainly offers easy access to much that the area has to offer and we couldn’t be happier to know you enjoyed the great on-site amenities of our historic hotel as well as the service you received from our associates. We apologize, however, if you encountered any issues with our breakfast buffet. Excellent service at every level is paramount and we regret if you encountered anything less. Your comments will be shared with everyone here. We hope to welcome you back again for your next visit to St. Louis.

Pros: The History, the location
Cons: Television and WiFi
Location: Zoo, Museum, Park. Near the Central west end area
Very nice Hotel. Room nice. Air flow poor. Nothing but analog TV. Come on this is the 21 Century. Have to pay for WiFi
