Well past its primePosted Apr 17, 2014
So many problems...where to start? Facility looks run down and poorly maintained. Atrium area had rust stains in roof and roof leaked throughout...garbage cans collected rainwater leaking in the hallways. There was a mildewy smell in the lobby and atrium. On the weekend they were short on staff and the guests were loud and picnicking in the hallways well into the evening. During the week the atrium was kept at a very chilly 60 degrees which made swimming undesirable and unpleasant. When the smoke alarm signalled repeatedlt that the battery was low, staff responded by handing us batteries rather than taking care of it themselves. Pretzels from the previous family were in and under our pullout sleeper sofa bed. Weirdly, the hot water was hooked up to the toilet so it was like sitting on a geyser, which was odd and wasteful of hot water to say the least!! When we tried to leave early they responded that because we had booked with Expedia they wouldn't refund our money for the remaining days of our reservation. Photos made this look like a great place to bring kids but it just was run down and not as pictured. The only upsides were the friendly staff in the morning breakfast room, the nice game area and indoor soccer/ volleyball play area, and its convenient location. I would never ever come back here.

Great weekend in St. LouisPosted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: The Kid friendly part of the hotel was the most appealing part for our family. The breakfast was great and the size of the room was perfect.
Cons: Did not see anything to comment on.
Location: It was close enough to everything we wanted to do.
I booked this hotel online without ever being here. I need a room big enough for 4 adults and 2 children and it was available here. That is the reason I decided on this particular hotel. It will not be the only reason I come back. The hotel was perfect for the kids with all the indoor stuff that was available for them. The pool was still a little bit cool but other than that it was perfect. The breakfast was very good also.

Very nice place to stay....againPosted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: convenience, indoor amenities, cleanliness of the room.
Cons: maybe some bacon or sausage on the breakfast bar
Location: Grants farm is less than 5 miles away, Zoo is 8 miles away...nice bar & grill attached to the motel....
Staff was very friendly, allowed us to check in early. indoor pool, kids playground and game room...If I had to say anything about the hotel, the breakfast had no meat...bacon or sausage would have been nice. Suite was very nice. I left a phone charger, the hotel staff called me to inform me and shipped it to me at no cost!

Update Badly NeededPosted Apr 13, 2014
This hotel is very outdated. The pool area is frozen in the 70's and all the carpet throughout the hotel should be replaced. Our king size bed was the least comfortable I have ever slept on. I'm sure the fact that the mattress was resting on a sheet of plywood didn't help. The tv in our room was not even a flat screen. The free breakfast was the highlight of the stay and that was nothing special. Definately would not recommend this hotel at any price.

Close to convenient shopping and restaurants.Posted Apr 8, 2014
Cons: Bathroom updates
Nancy (at the front desk) was superb! She took care of getting our room ready early since we arrived ahead of schedule from Arizona. The staff was very nice and friendly and made you feel welcomed at their location.

Way too expensive!Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Nice area for breakfast, which was included. Food was good.
Cons: Get rid of the moldy and mildew smell in the lobby and rooms. Install an elevator .
This hotel had really nice pictures on line, when it reality, it is a very old and smelly hotel! For the price, they could at least have an elevator for those of us who have difficulty walking sometimes. The main lobby has the pool a few feet away, so everything smells mildewy. Would never recommend it to anyone.

Hotel only 15 minutes from attractions.Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Laundry equipment availability was appreciated. Children's play area was great, along with the arcade games for the teenage set were helpful.
Cons: The facility is older, and has had many alterations. Some not too convenient. Don't see much hope for improvements.
Location: Great restaurant next door. Many stores nearby for necessities.
I was guaranteed our rooms to be $75, and was charged $91.20 w/ $42.72 in taxes and fees. I thought that was a bit much. Layout of our "suites" was quite bazaar, it appeared that 2 rooms were expanded into one, but instead of keeping 2 bathrooms, we had 2 one-half bathrooms. The stool in one, and the tub in the other. For 3 beds, 2 baths would have been preferable. The pool was quite uncomfortable for children, as it was not heated, or at least appeared so, since it was quite cold. Our requested wake-up calls were directed to the room next door.

Suzann, If you booked through Expedia, then you charging issues need to be directed/discussed with them. We do actually have 3 bed suites that have two full baths with vanities actually in the hall area on the other side of our Hotel. My apologies regarding the coolness of our pool, but it is and has been registering temperatures between 79 and 80 degrees. The coolness of our dome area does tend to make the pool area seem cooler. Respectfully, Donna/GM

AdequatePosted Apr 6, 2014
Cons: It needs to be updated. Everything was run-down and old.
Location: There were several restaurants close, and some shopping.
This hotel is not terrible, but can only be described as adequate. The beds were comfortable, and the room temperature ok. The facility is run-down and shabby-looking. The food at breakfast was fair. For the price, we couldn't complain. The staff were very nice.

Spring Break family tripPosted Apr 1, 2014
Spent 4 nights at this hotel for our short spring break trip with my husband and three children. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Check in was fast and easy and we were in a room on the main level right across from all the fun kids stuff. The hotel can use some updating but overall everything was clean. Our room was very large with enough beds for all of us. Also having a fridge and microwave in the room was a nice bonus. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was pretty good. They offered many hot items along with fruit, cereal, yogurt, milk and juice. Our kids were very excited about having the indoor pool and playground. However when we tried to take advantage of the pool, we found it to be VERY cold! The kids didn't mind, but my husband and I decided not to partake. Overall a very nice trip and a good stay!
