Beautiful Hotel

Posted Aug 10, 2012
Pros: Jacuzzi bath!
Cons: Not very well lit and the staff were dismissive
Location: Beautiful area in the heart of the university - a couple minutes drive from the centre
The Guest House was amazing itself with beautifully decorated rooms and well equipped! The location was also great and parking comes with the price - which is very useful. However the directions on how to collect your keys weren't very clear and the staff were rather rude to us as there was a misunderstanding with payment. St Louis itself was lovely and all together we had a wonderful time

Not for clean freaks.

Pros: Location
Cons: cleanliness
Location: Great location for the Fox.
Great location. We went to a concert at the Fox Theater. Comfy bed. It wasn't very clean. There was very little toilet paper & we ran out. No coffee maker. I would stay there again because of the location, but I will bring my own tp & coffee maker.

GREAT bed - but, that is the best highlight

Pros: Comfort of bed
Cons: Inconvenience to check in and to park
Location: Seemed a little "seedy" to me
Parking is a pain in the butt at this place - you cannot park on the street due to St. Louis rules. You need to use a parking garage for tenants and can only park in one spot of the garage that is very difficult to find without good directions. You also don't check in at the guest house.....a fact that I didn't know until calling a booking number that I retrieved from the internet since I never received a confirmation email message. You need to go to another office that is very close to the property to pick up keys. The bathroom rug looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. There was a used kleenex on the floor when we arrived. There were spots on the comforter. If it weren't for the fixed up bed - I might have thought that the unit had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Now for the good stuff: the place was redecorated impeccably and the comfort of the bed was absolutely FANTASTIC.

Great place to stay if you only want the basics.

If you are looking for a cute and comfy but not necissarily quiet bed(breakfast is not really included except if you pay extra on Saturday) then this is a great stop. It is also a great location for anybody visiting campus. However when we arrived we had to track down the building where the keys were located and then given minimal and incorrect information on our stay. First we got a ticket after parking where we were told to park and then the spots assigned to the bnb in the garage were at the other end of the block. Cute room, beautiful building...not quite what we had in mind for a bed and "breakfast".

Grand Center Guest House

Let me start off by saying that the room was setup with old style furnutre in good repair and we started off our stay on a high note, but the AC was blowing air when we came in and the room was 72. So we turned it down becasue we had other things to do in the area and expected to come back to a cool room, but it was 78 when we returned and when I tried to call the office to tell them the phone went to and answering machine. It seems the main number is a monitored answering machine and the leasing office is a different number, we were not given that number to ask for help and never got a call back from the answering machine people. I finally wandered around trying to find help at the leasing office and found no one there and after calling 3 times to the number we were given and asking any one to help me, I finally found the night staff of the leasing office outside of the Coranado. I told them that the AC is not working and that I was just told by my wife on the phone that the jacuzzi tub was not working. They came back to our room 30 minutes later, they are mostly concerned with the Coranado premises rather then our guest house. Got the AC to work but had to shower and get ready for Wicked in a 78 degree room. Was cool when we got back but the tub never worked.
