“great room”
Nice big room great for 4the adults in town for events at Scott trade center.
“nice area”
location was great but worst nights sleep at a hotel that I have had
“Convenient location to lots of stuff, just average other than that.”
Good place to stay ... convenient location to all things downtown St Louis ... other than that, pretty average. It will be a place when you leave you forget, other than the location, without complaint. Walking distance to Busch Stadium, Scott Trade Center and the train station is across the street. Will stay again ... and again and again.
“Clean but iffy neighborhood and ho-hum service”
Room was clean and well-appointed and pool room was great (clean, lots of towels, good temperature). Walking distance to City Museum and conveniently located for Metro & trolley. Cons were: (1) we (two women - one a senior citizen - and 4 kids) were advised by the concierge to walk down Clark St to Union Station for dinner the night we arrived. On the way I was propositioned, we crossed the road to avoid a group of people that looked (and acted) like junkies, and we had to pass another large group that were all smoking pot. This was at 5:30 pm! It was really scary. We took Market St back and avoided all that nastiness. BAD call by the concierge. (2) The hot tub was a lukewarm tub the first night (they had fixed it the 2nd night). (3) My car battery died. The desk clerk told me they had a jump starter but she didn't think it worked properly; when she called maintenance they confirmed it didn't work. If they knew it wasn't working, why hadn't they fixed or replaced it?
“Nicer that I expected”
We stayed here for a hockey game because of it's location. It was much nicer than I expected....I was worried when we pulled up that it might be dirty but I was pleasantly surprised. It is an older looking hotel but the rooms are clean and big. We are going back for our next Hockey Game in December and already have reservations to stay there again.
“Weekend trip, easy breezy”
The price was great and the location not bad, with a negligible walking distance separating the Sheraton from other (more expensive) hotels. A great bet if you're in town for the Blues (right across the street) or the Cardinals (10 minute walk, tops). The room was extremely spacious, clean, and had comfortable beds with nice comforters (plush white instead of the awful hard, thin, and printed comforters that grace some other hotels). Parking was easy, with no need to use valet if you'd prefer to do it yourself. No complaints. Will definitely be staying again the next time I'm in town.
“Nice staff. Poor condition”
The rooms need renovated. Good suite to accommodate a big family, but, big stains on carpets, wall paper peeling at the corners.... Staff was quite nice. Dining options for breakfast ridiculously overpriced- you can't eat there on any kind of budget.
“Great downtown hotel”
Great beds and linens. Good location to walk to Busch stadium.
“Could be a great hotel with some changes...”
Hotel was nice! Lobby bar was good, bartenders A++, servers are lacking in attentiveness though. Public transportation depot is across from the main entrance, and the buses emit a high pitched beeping which is somewhat annoying, but you can only hear that (I would imagine, at least) when you are outside. I like the fact that after 11 PM you have to swipe your card on the elevator to gain access to your floor, made me feel secure! Bed would have been comfortable had it not been concave as if a 400 lb man had been sleeping in the middle of the bed. Also, VERY squeaky! Bedding was great though. Sunday paper outside of the door was a plus. I would definitely stay again.
“Great hotel - very comfy beds and pillows.”
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was great - big and very comfortable. We felt very safe there. The negatives were -- The check - in staff wasn't overly friendly, but she wasn't rude and the pool had a lot of chlorine - our eyes were all stinging. We would definitely stay here again, though. Love the location.
