Delightful architecture, convenient city location.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Courteous Staff, Great Architecture, Attached Mall to walk at night after it closes, restaurants nearby, Brand New Hotel Room, view of pond, park.
Cons: Parking was far away. Rooms were far from main entrance… Only challenging for transport of luggage. Train Station setup prevents change.
Location: Approx. 1 mile from St. Louis arch. Attached Mall with restaurants. Pond with gold fish. Park across the street that goes to the Arch.
Our room had just been remodeled. Very nice bathroom, pullout couch, overlooked pond and other restaurants in facility. Bellmen were very pleasant and helpful in getting our luggage to the room and watching our car for us. The detail in the late 1800s architecture was captivating. Parking area was well lit and supervised.

Pros: The location. Being inside the train station and leveraging the station lobby for the bar is excellent.
Cons: The beds. They were terrible.
Mattresses were old and it was very hard to slip as the bed was uneven.

Union Station Hotel in St. Louis

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: the guest services were very good. the light show at night. the swimming pool. the brunch.
Location: The Arch. The St. Louis Cardinals The St. Louis Zoo
Unjon Station is in a great location to get to downtown or the zoo. The hotel is beautifully restored and very accommodating to their guests. The light show in the lobby was the high light of the visit. My grandchildren were in awe. The brunch was exceptional and well worth the time and money spent. The buffet offered a great variety and was fresh and tasty. I look forward to my next visit to St. Louis and will certainly stay at the Union Station Hotel.

Very Good Hotel

Posted Jun 16, 2014
The best part of this hotel is the Great Hall, lobby, restaurant, ballroom portion of the hotel. Very neat to see the old architecture. I wasn't blown away by the rooms but they were nice. Unfortunately the rooms just didn't have the charm as the previously mentioned areas did. Part of this of course is that the rooms portion was added in the 1980's. When I booked the room I didn't realize it was part of a mall or had some restaurants (Hard Rock and Landry's) out behind the hotel around a large pond. My kids really enjoyed feeding the thousands of goldfish in the pond. There was alos paddle boats for rent. Very neat area. I wish though this area was a bit more lively. It is just a sign of the current trends of the area. It feels like the mall and restaurants are kept afloat by the tourists coming and going from just the hotel. There were several places that were boarded up. Just not enough traffic to support them. I wish I could have seen this place in the 1980's and 1990's when it was in its heyday. Overall though these are kind of nit-picky comments. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it as place to stay for any friends. One side note is that we had a stroller and it was difficult at times the amount of steps in areas. Everywhere had ramps and wheel chair access except sometimes it was just too inconvenient to go to the ramp. Several times we just picked up the stroller and carried it up/down the couple of steps.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm glad you enjoyed most of your visit and wanted to share a few things that may encourage your return to the Station. We have renovated most of our guestrooms, but by your comment you may have been assigned to one not yet done--only our 1st and 2nd floors are left to be finished. Coming soon in 2015 renovations are coming to the rest of Union Station Retail space bringing energy back to this amazing feature of St. Louis. We hope to see you very soon! Not 4 star

Posted Jun 11, 2014
This hotel isn't even close to 4 star. Old out dated rooms. Musty smell in room and halls. Hallways long and low light. Too many additional fees- internet in every area., self parking $16, etc. Overall experience terrible. The mall is run down and very few stores/restaurants. We actually booked a different room across town and finished our trip on a great note!

Most Construction seems to be complete

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Great room, huge King Size bed was very comfy. Clean.
Location: 5 Minute drive to all major St Louis attractions. About a half hour away from the airport. 15 minutes away from "The Loop", check it out
Stayed here for two nights over Memorial Day weekend. The hotel was awesome, did not see any construction going on. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, the room was large, clean and came with a refrigerator. The hotel is built inside the massive train shed of St. Louis Union Station, which is pretty cool. Great pool located in the middle of it, as is a small mall and a lagoon that you can walk around. The hotel is located about a 30 minute walk from the Arch, which you can see from the front door of the hotel. And we were offered a free cookie at check in. Loved it. No complaints whatsoever about this hotel.

Nice

The lobby was great, there was nothing wrong with the room. Clean, comfortable, and accommodating. But the hall outside of the room was like I was at a cheap run down hotel
