Nice hotel, but didn't really live up to the hype

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Big rooms, close to our event that evening.
Cons: The parking situation is a little unorganized. Improved communication among the staff.
Location: Right between Busch Stadium and Scott Trade Center (perfect for a Cardinals or Blues game) and situated near good restaurants and bars.
I had always heard The Westin was one of the nicer hotels in the St. Louis area. Even more specifically that they're bedding was noteworthy. I found a good deal on a room, so I thought I'd give it a try. We needed a refrigerator in our room, so I made a call beforehand, after making reservations, to make sure that was available. When we checked in, I asked about the fridge again, and the staff acted like that was a surprise to them, but ensure that he would send someone up with a fridge for us. No big deal. But then we got to the room and still had to wait an hour before I had to call and ask, for a third time, to have a fridge brought to the room. It finally arrived, but not before finding out that the toilet was broken due to the pull chain coming removed from the stopper, so it wouldn't flush. So another call to the front desk to have them send someone up to fix that. All-in-all, it was an average hotel, laid out very oddly, but it was close to the Scott Trade Center for the Blues' game that night, and right next to a few nice bars & restaurants. The bedding was okay, but not what I had expected from the rave reviews.

It was OK for a family.

Pros: Online
Location: It is in a good location next to the ball park.
The staff was very friendly and very good. The Hotel was made with expensive fixtures, but unskilled carpenters. The bathroom counter was black marble but the seams were uneven. The tiles looked expensive, but were un even. The corners of the tiles poked my feet as I was showering. The shower fixture was very high end, but the way uneven tiles ruined a nice shower. I was with my wife and daughter. The website said that they had children's activities. This amounted to, they could loan us a monopoly game. I did not expect Disney World, but I did expect more than what was offered. The only amenities at this hotel were a exercise room, a bar, and restaurant. The Hotel was clean and safe, the food was good. It was OK.

Parking

Posted Feb 17, 2015
I would say the hotel over all was very good, check in was a bit slower than I prefer. One problem is the parking situation we had to park in a lot which was a full block from the hotel. Moving forward I will take parking more into consideration when booking a hotel.

House keeping issues

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Location was great for downtown activities. They had a car service that was perfect. Edwin went out of his way to accomidate our group.
Cons: House keeping and attention to the details.
Location: Hotel is right on the metro so you can get everywhere. The stadium area was fun with plenty of brs and restaurants and you can walkk it is about 1 blo
The holtel is in a great locatiion for downtown activities. We had a number of issues with house keeping. Bed was not made and had stains on sheets when we arrived. There were staains on the wall wheree liquid had been sprayed. We had wine in our room and the next afternoon the tub had wine stains as if they just poured the left over wine in the tub and rinsed the glasses. The glasses were left in the bathroom. Room also had a foul smell when we came back after a afternoon out. All issues were taken care of but for this type of hotel we didn't expect to have them to begin with.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel the Thursday before valentines day to avoid the Valentine's day traffic. We were beyond pleased. Everything was so beautiful and clean. The bathroom was breath taking! The breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was awesome and the staff was very friendly! Great experience
