“Perfect romantic gateway”

Absolutely wonderful romantic place. Friendly excellent service (I am the type that is hard to please - they are impecable!). Very well managed, very nice staff, everyone so professional, they really create an amazing experience for you. Food is super great, which is so rare for Caribbean islands. there are plenty of activities offered. Rooms are very spacious, service is done fast and perfect. I have been in many places in the world, that place is really special - both the island and the hotel.

“Extraordinary Staff”

The hotel was staffed with extraordinarily kind and helpful people. The housekeepers kept our room immaculate. The receptionists were friendly and worked hard to keep guests happy and aware of programs available and requirements for each activity. The resort taxi drivers narrated the trips with fascinating little tidbits of information about the island. The beach attendants were attentive and quick to serve. The restaurant workers were attentive without being intrusive. All the workers were friendly and greeted guests. The leaders of the activities were fantastic, sharing information about the area with guests.

“Great anniversary trip/couples retreat”

Wow! A breathtakingly beautiful setting, warm, gracious and responsive staff and excellent food and service made this an amazing vacation for us. The beach is just beautiful, with superb snorkeling right off the beach. "No kids" was certainly a big point for us and the absence of children made this a very peaceful and restful week. There were couples of all ages, from honeymooners to 25 year anniversaries like us. Gourmet food each night, high tea every afternoon and full American or Brit-style breakfast ensured everyone ate well. Definitely do the all-inclusive, otherwise it will be very expensive to eat and there aren't other options for meals. Now about that location... Expect a long, fairly grueling trip from airport to hotel. Very mountainous, winding road then a one-lane dirt track through the jungle to the hotel that will rattle your teeth. That said, it is worth it. However, if you are looking for high-tech modern appointments, this place is not for you. The rooms are a bit rustic, no AC, but charmingly appointed with a mosquito net over the bed and a fan and ocean breezes. Clean, comfortable and very roomy. We had a million-dollar view of both the Pitons and the ocean in a standard hillside room. Be prepared for lots of steps up and down from the hotel/restaurants to the beach. Our best vacation ever, we will go back!

“Go to Anse Chastent, but..”

Go to Anse Chastenet! Anse Chastenet is a world heritage site consisting of mountains, reefs, jungles, historic sites, etc. We were overwhelmed by the beauty and significance of the place. That being said, you are not in the Okura or Bangkok Oriental. You sleep under mosquito netting without air conditioning. The architecture is a tropical version of an Italian hill town: lots of climbing. If you are old or infirm, this may not be the trip for you. The enormous staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We really felt more pampered than in Tokyo or Bangkok. The food is quiet good. Some have complained about the prices, but them seemed good value to us.

“Great place to stay”

The staff really cater to you. You must go to the second beach, it is beautiful, well maintained, the snorkeling is good and the food is fantastic there. Get the burger even though it seems why would go you so far and get a burger, why because it is delicious.

“Amazing”

This place is absolutely beautiful and enriched with culture, history, and art. The service was the best I have ever experienced. The staff was friendly, professional, and very accommodating. The food at the resort was fabulously prepared by terrific chefs. The price of food is expensive, so the meal plan would be a better choice. I recommend the Gourmet Meal on Mondays and the guided Plantation Hike was lots of fun and very informative. Beautiful healthy reef systems made the dives and snorkeling remarkable. Diving with the dive group at the resort was terrific. The dive group was professional and safety concsious. They provided beachfront lockers for storing our gear. It made it convenient to leave our gear. Security is really good too. I would recommend this resort to anyone that can appreciate peace and tranquility and doesn't mind walking up steps.

“40th Anniversary Celebration”

Overall the resort was great. The resort offers majestic views of the Pitons & the sea. The location was a bit remote but well worth the character of the resort. The staff was attentative & friendly. The ammenities were an added feature. We were there to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Champagne was waiting in our fridge. Our stay was certainly a memorable one. Driving is not for the faint of heart!!! Truly an adventure.

“Excellence that you pay for!”

As long as you are aware that you are going to be in a room that has no AC you will love your experience. The service is friendly, warm and inviting by all of the staff that we encountered. One of our tour guides even went so far as to climb up the mountain to get fresh Aloe Vera for my wifes heat rash. The staff make you feel that you are their house guest and if it was not for the check out reminder I would have had no idea what day it was. The entire stay was filled with snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, dipping in hot springs, jungle tours, and so many other activities. From relaxing on the beach, massages over looking the ocean, to the incredible food we were completely satisfied. The heat rash eased and she did have a great time.

“Best vacation we've ever had”

A must visit. Fantastic food. Great service. The entire staff is genuinely interested in the guests having a great time and they are proud of what they can offer. St. Lucia is a very interesting island. We hope to be able to visit the resort again someday. No question, better than any cruise.
