“Cozy hotel. Great getaway!”

We visited 4/27 - 5/1. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there, but it was still a great experience. We went during their slow season, so there weren't many guests at the hotel, which was awesome. The staff was super friendly. Pool was great. Spa prices are cheap ($66 got you a full body massage and scrub and a facial). Location was great. 5-10 minute walk to restaurants and strip mall. The only downside was that the food at the restaurants on site were very expensive. We ended up going to a different local restaurant every night and got better deals.I would recommend going to the grocery store for breakfast items and snacks to keep in your room. You end up buying a lot of water bottles, so you are better off buying a big pack at the store. Same for beer if you drink. Pigeon island is just a short taxi ride away and is a good place to get a good, affordable lunch. The hotel is about 1 1/2 hours from the airport, but the ride goes by fast. The taxi driver stopped several times to take pictures and get local food. Taxi is $80 US each way per car. We will definitely be back when the weather is better. But either way, ti was a great experience. Loved this hotel. Take the speed boat tour they offer if you can - see the pitons, mineral baths, volcano, etc.

“perfect st. lucia vacation”

rodney bay is a wonderful new location full of wonderful restaurants, cool bars, a new mall with casino & very nice people. the 90 minute drive to the hotel from the airport was really a tour of the island & our driver was friendly & pleasant and gave us a lot of good island info. the resort is really nice: quaint, clean. great spa, beach & sunsets.

“St. Lucia beachfront without the stuffy resort feel”

We had an amazing time - it was a great location, in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. We were really glad we hadn't decided to do the much more expensive all-inclusive thing at one of the resorts. Had an ocean-front room with a kitchenette, so we made our own breakfast, but Great place to stay - can't say enough good things.

“The island leaves a little to be desired however the hotel and islanders were superb”

This was a very comfortable hotel/resort. It was clear from the design that the traveler was considered in all aspects of the amenities. This is a great choice for families, especially w/ small children or families who prefer to prepare their own meals. The kitchen is very modern and fully equipped. The appearance of the island and sites left a little to be desired, however islanders were very friendly and helpful. The food was great too!

“Our stay wasn't long enough.”

My teenagers and I stayed at the Bay Garden Beach Hotel. It was a lovely, clean hotel. The staff was friendly. I appreciated the US outlet in the room. There were at least a dozen terrific restaurants within walking distance. Most were on the expensive side, but a great alternative is Rituals coffee shop. Walking in the tourist area was very safe. The only complaint I had was about the cushioned lounges stacked on the beach. When we attempted to use them, the security guard ran after us and told us they were borrowed from another Bay Garden Hotel and we weren't to use them. The lounges remained in the same spot, unused/unmoved, for most of our stay. We appreciated and used another traveler's tip and hired a taxi for a day - cheaper than doing all the separate tours and we saw it all. Ziplining in the rainforest is a MUST. IT WAS GREAT FUN.

“Can't wait to go back”

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit St. Lucia! It was conveniently located within walking distance to several restaurants and we felt safe enough walking to most places each evening. The staff was extremely friendly, polite and willing to help with anything we needed during our stay. We were there to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and can't wait to visit again someday!! The food was wonderful at every place we visited. They have such a wide variety of restaurants in the area you can eat whatever type of food desired.

“Perfect for folks like us!”

St. Lucia is the most beautiful island this side of Hawaii. We traveled there first for my work (three days in Castries), then three days of pure vacation at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort. It's on the northern tip of the island, so rather far (1.5 hours) and expensive ($80 or more taxi) from the main airport Hewanorra, which is at the southern tip; much closer to Vigie (George Charles) airport in Castries, but which accommodates only small planes. We are not folks who stay at the extremely pricey, all-inclusive hotels. The Bay Gardens was a terrific bargain (our stay in September was a little out of season), with immaculate rooms, wonderful beach right outside the door, a nice pool (though the ocean was so inviting, we never went into it). The restaurant was quite good, and reasonably priced. If you want to venture down the road, within walking distance there are a fair number of other restaurants and hotels; we never bothered - we ate at the Bay Gardens the three nights we were there. Especially if you don't have a car, the ability to walk to the village (15 minutes) is great, since you will find a large, modern supermarket not to mention other restaurants. Did I mention that the staff was uniformly friendly and helpful? They certainly were. My wife and I would certainly return, though air and land time will consumer the better part of the day.
