Great locationPosted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: The location was fabulous- across from the beach, on the entrance to Rodney Bay, and near restaurants, shops, cafes and nightlife.
Cons: Offering a continental breakfast, or coffee earlier would have been great!
Two out of our three days were without hot water as the boiler had broken. It would have been nice if we had known this situation was being addressed but none were offered.

Good hotel but not for those who love the beachPosted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms.
Cons: Pool could be open longer. Better beach packages/access with more upstanding vendors.
Location: Near several good restaurants.
The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is good but make sure you take advantage. There is a small continental breakfast spread but the food off the menu is complimentary as well and far better. There is a good pool with a decent amount of chairs and shade if required. It closes at 6 which seems a bit early so life in the hotel is pretty quiet from about 6PM to 7:30PM when dinner starts. I would recommend leaving the hotel for dinner and going to Buzz and Spinnakers. Both had great vibes and options and there are several more restaurants near the hotel as well. Biggest down side is the beach access/experience. To get to the beach you have to walk down the street and through a small side road where you have to pay for chairs and an umbrella if desired. The hotel offers tokens for a high price which includes chairs, an umbrella and 2 bottles of water. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE TOKENS. The gentlemen who met us to give us the chairs and umbrella were rude. They did not have water and said we had to get it from the hotel and the umbrella was as effective as newspaper. The man who set up the umbrella stood around until we tipped him for the 2 seconds of effort and we had vendors/vagrants approach us every 2 minutes due to our location in the public area of the beach. Overall, the hotel and staff were both great. However,if you're planning to spend a lot of time on a beach, stay at a hotel with beach access.

Great HotelPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: The locations, the cleanliness the staff was great, and the food was excellent.
Cons: The only issue i had was the wireless at first, but in the end it all worked out.
Location: Located close to restaurants, the beach, pretty much anawesome location
Went for a wedding, the hotel was nice, i had a room on the ground floor opposite the pool, there are lounge chairs on the terrace in the front of the pool where i ate my meals. I went at a slow season so the hotel was a bit dead but no complaints there. There staff was good, helpful. No complaints what so ever about this hotel highly recommended and was conveniently located a few steps from the beach.

Blu Hotel family or couplesPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: I really liked the Free WIFI, Free Safe in the room, Cable TV very good Air conn unit. And the pool with bar and food all centrally located.
Cons: Shower was not very good... it was not always hot either.
Location: Hotel is on a resonably quiet road.minutes walk from the nearest beach. food is just minutes walk. and a shopping area is less than 10 mins walk.
The hotel is one of the best in the area. very close to the Rex which is more expensive but does back on to the Beach. BE WARNED International flights land at the South of the Island but capital Castries is in the north as is the hotel. so 1.5 hours drive after you land. Taxi is around 80.00 USD local money is East Caribbean Dollar 3 EC to 1 USD roughly. Most prefer to take the USD. My experiance of the staff was very good. the room was very nice. Only downside was the very week shower. but the bed and room was very nice. Internet wifi speed very good. Everything worked. Comes with US and UK power plugs and free room safe. The site has its own adequate pool which is 3ft from the on site bar area where food is served from. 4mins walk is the beach you have to cross the very quiet road and walk past the local police station or Rex hotel to get to the beach. Beach has places to eat and drink.. Local food all along the road that the hotel Blu is on open in the early evening.. Chinese/hong kong, Steak, Indian...and local caribbean infusion foods all minutes walk away. a little more further walk down the road are Banks and ATM's Subway food and burger king and supermarket and duty free shopping etc about (10 mins walk. ) Pigeon island is also a very nice place to visit. December is the end of the wet season till about August.

Comfortable, well-laid out, well-managed property with a great staff. Great value relative to nearby hotels.

Hotel Staff lack good customer servicePosted May 15, 2013
Pros: The room had character but lack many working facilities... the entrance to rooms are basic and the bathroom is too small... the beds not comfortable
Cons: 1. Service. 2. Service. 3. Service. ......
Location: The location in Rodney Bay is perfect with the mall and several restaurants and night life.
I choose this hotel for 4 nights to attend the St. Lucia Jazz. Having prepaid the room, check-in was pretty straight forward. The hotel property and rooms have some character but all of this is spoiled by the lack of customer service from staff and the fact that many things did not work right, for instance, the hotel experiences very low water pressure, at times you have only cold water and on one occasion the water from the faucet and into the toilet was extremely brown. The hotel seems not to have a central fire alarm and the alarm in my room needed a battery as it was buzzing all the time, although reported no one came to fix it. The cleaner for my room did not change the linens for the 4 days i was there and also did not bring clean towels to the room stating that they were now drying... this was at 12:00 noon in the day.. breakfast was a hit and miss... poor cereal selection, took several attempts each day to get egg orders for omelets correct... the hotel suffers from not having well trained staff from the Manager on Duty to waitresses, housekeeping to reception and security... every request was placed on we will deal with this sometime during the day... I would not recommend the hotel to others and i would not stay at the hotel again... to me its a 2 star hotel with mediocrity in terms of service at all levels... didn't enjoy the experience at all.

"Well priced hotel"Posted Apr 25, 2013
Pros: The room and the pool
Cons: The older crowd
Location: Good location close to the beach but far from the airport
Pros: My boyfriend and I spent a relaxing 5 days in this hotel. The staff was very welcoming. The rooms were very accommodating and modern and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was great and the lounge chairs and cabanas gave it an elegant feel. The location is great as it is only a 3 minute walk from a decent beach. However, the crowd there was much older, mostly 40+. No families or young couples. I would not recommend it for younger couples as the hotel environment is very tranquil and the bar was usually dead by 10 pm. Cons: This hotel is situated on the north side of the island, about an hour and a half away from the main airport. Be prepared to pay over $100 USD for just one way for airport/hotel transfers.
