40th Wedding Anniversary

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The style, comfort, and cleanliness. it was great only having 50 rooms...small but with large amenities.
Cons: Another restaurant might be nice,
Location: Take the yacht trip. Location was 1 1/2 hours from airport, but the ride was very nice. The resort would take you anywhere you wanted.
This was the best vacation I was ever on. We wanted to choose something different and a little more exclusive than our normal vacations. This fit the bill. We even got the exact room we wanted. Our view was spectacular and even better than the view from the pool! Our breakfast was included in our rate since we had wanted to be free to go other places for dinner. However, we only ended up going out twice. The restaurant dinners were wonderful. The chef was over the top! Although we went during "low" season, there was not anything we were without. The staff was wonderful. Every person was better than the one before. The restaurant staff were all great. I know this sounds unbelievable, but it is true. The resort was definitely perfect for couples. However, there was a lovely couple with their 2-year old who seems to have a wonderful time. The villas with their own pools looked incredible. My husband and I always seemed to have the "tiered" pool to ourselves. The weather was perfect. Only one day of clouds. Unfortunately, I didn't get the "beach" walking experience I am used to, but the "cove" beach was beautiful. I'll save the beach walking for another vacation. It was worth ever penny. Would love to go back to St. Lucia. We took the full day resort yacht excursion with 4 other couples. It was a great way to see a good part of the island from the water without having to go through the winding roads of the island. You really saw things from a better view

Relaxing get-away for two

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: The location is beautiful! The views of the ocean from every angle, whether it is the room's balcony, the poolside, or the beach -- it's breathtaking.
Cons: We had some trouble accessing the wi-fi from our room.
Location: It was very easy to book sight-seeing excursions and be picked up from the hotel.
We spent a long weekend relaxing at the Cap Maison. It is located north of the island, and about an hour and half's drive from the international airport. It was wonderfully relaxing to spend the day by the pool with a breathtaking view from high up on the cliffs, enjoying the beach and the sand, as well as the delicious food. The staff was also very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating.

Lovely hotel with stunning views and great food

Posted Mar 21, 2014
Pros: The Spanish-style architecture, the grounds, the views and the beach.
Location: It's quite isolated being a taxi ride away from shops and restaurants but the grounds, the food and the beach adequately compensate!
Cap Maison is a lovely hotel with nicely appointed rooms, stunning views and attractive grounds. The food is excellent too, albeit quite expensive. We chose Cap Maison because we wanted a more individual experience, rather than the standardised offering of a large, often impersonal, all-inclusive resort and for us it fitted the bill perfectly.

Relaxing visit

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Very organized and useful conceirge.
Cons: Optional mosquito netting in the room.
Location: Gros Islet was a great option to taste local cusine.
A great stay. Greeted on arrival by the receptionist who explained all the hotel features. The Naked Fisherman on the beach was great for lunch. Beach was just as written, a small, nicely manicured peice of real estate.

Problems with Beach

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Facilities excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Surroundings superb.
Cons: Restaurants had a limited menu for just snacks, except for the beach restaurant which was so difficult to reach
Location: Wide range of activities and tours available
Everything really perfect EXCEPT 100 steps down to the private beach! !

Expensive but worth it

Posted Feb 22, 2014
Pros: Top of the line.
Cons: I can not think of any thing that needs improvement.
Location: The Sunset Party Cruise and Soufriere Island Delight Tours were good.
When we first booked our winter get away we thought it was a little expensive but once we arrived at the resort we were pleasantly surprised. We booked car transportation through Barefoot Holidays. They were ready to take us to the hotel right away. The hotel is on the northern end of the island about 90 minutes or more from Fort Vieux Airport. Once at the resort the Concierge greeted us promptly and took us to our accommodations. We booked a junior suite with an ocean view but they upgraded us to a Villa with an ocean view. The Concierge gave us a tour of the villa. Our luggage was brought to our room right away. The villa was spectacular, water views from every room, balcony and roof top terrace with our own private pool. All the rooms, (living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, powder room, full bathroom) were spacious. The property is well kept and nicely laid out. The main restaurant is right on the water. All of the meals were beautifully prepared. The portions are not large, it is a fine dining experience. The beach is small but very nice. The beach staff were very friendly. We went to the beach every day. The Concierge arranged a taxi for us to go into Rodney Bay during the day so we could do some grocery and souvenir shopping. We went back to Rodney Bay one night to eat dinner. The Concierge suggested a restaurant based on the type of cuisine we wanted to eat that night. The restaurant was very good. One of our better vacations.

Wonderful oasis

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: See above
Other than a VERY lengthy drive from Vieux Fort, this is a terrific and beautiful gem on the north side of the island. The friendly and professional staff are always attentive to your needs. The food was comfortable and unassuming. Local flavors, aromas and seafood offer everyone a delicious choice. Our advice, other than definitely spending some time here, is either to take a smaller plane in from San Juan e.g. to the nearer airport or spend the extra money and take the helicopter ride from Vieux Fort and see the island from above. You will be much more relaxed upon arrival and on the beach watching the sunset with plenty of time to spare. Cheers!

Very Nice Boutique hotel with stunning views.

Posted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: Boutique Cozy Not overcrowded mostly child free
Cons: Food Portions.
Location: kite boarding with Simon. Would recommend him to hotel guests!
Stay was fabulous. Enjoyed the friendly, attentive staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Champagne upon arrival was very nice! We participated on the full day boat excursions. I would have expected a higher quality of lunch (perhaps some appetizers to snack on. Instead we just had a sandwich wrap, which was soggy by the time we ate it, and some fruit. ) Captain was very nice but was a bit distant. There was not enough equipment for all six passengers to go snorkelling. We took turns. so it worked out in the end. Mud bath and volcano tour were great. Prices of meals at hotel were average meal prices that we are used to paying the North America. However the portions were 1/3 the size! Single sliders for the mini burgers, one tiny fish wrap for the battered red snapper. I would decrease the prices or increase the serving size. The cocktail party with GM and his spouse was a nice touch. I like the intimacy that this hotel had. Getting to meet the owners first hand was very personal. Staff were very friendly. All activities were planned well for us. We did kite surfing with Simon. He is not affiliated with the hotel, but I would consider adding him to your contacts list permanently. He is a great instructor!! I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great honeymoon!

Fantastic views but expensive

Posted Jan 18, 2014
Pros: Fantastic views and friendly staff
Cons: The food for it's price we felt was expensive. Free water could be provided in the rooms.
Location: The hotel has a private beach with sun loungers, sailing and sea Kayaking. Rodney bay is a short taxi ride away with lots of bars and restaurants.
We were fortunate to be upgraded at the Cap Maison via Expedia VIP access. This made a massive difference and we had a fantastic room. The hotel itself is very nice, staff brilliant and the views are fantastic. Definitely a hotel to include as part of a stay in St Lucia!
