“Not up to spec”
I was not satisfied with this hotel. In fact, after two days I canceled the rest of my stay here and booked somewhere else. While close to the airport, the location is the worst place you choose if you want to be able to do everything St Lucia offers. While 16 miles away from Souffre, it is an hour drive. There is nothing to do in the area. The food is not good. My best meal was a grilled cheese sandwich.
“Excellent vacation experience.”
Coconut Bay is close to airport, which is very convenient. Food was good. Variety was excellent and quality was much better than expected for a buffet. The Italian restaurant food was excellent, except they keep the same menu for 7 days, so variety is limited. Food in the Asian restaurant was fair. It was not open every night and was not very busy. Pools were great. Swimming in the waves of the Atlantic was great compared to bathtub of the Caribbean. Beach and poolside facilities are excellent. Lots of activities for children. Good variety of drinks and quality was excellent. Evening entertainment was ok, probably what you would expect for resort. The staff were generally friendly helpful. Some are a little arrogant. The concierge tries to direct you to certain excursions. This is somewhat due to the fact that the Coconut Bay is far from the more active parts of St. Lucia, but also due to their favored vendors. So choices are a little limited. We did take an all-day, full island, excursion. The guide/driver was good, but spent too much time on his cell phone. The sunset cruise was great. Because of the limited restaurants and difficulty in getting around, would recommend all-inclusive for St. Lucia.
“A Very Fun Place”
The Entertainment Staff made Coconut Bay such a fun place. The dancing, the entertainment, the polo, volleyball, aqua aerobics, water slides. There was always something to do. The day trips to the ziplines and the sulphur and mineral springs were the best!
“Heaven on Earth”
Great place and the nicest people would love to go back again
“Best Vacation and Wedding Ever”
We just returned from 10 days in St. Lucia, 4 at the Almond Morgan Bay and 6 at Coconut Bay. The service and staff attitude at Coconut Bay surpassed anything that we could have imagined. As soon as you walk into the resort everyone is smiling and genuinly wants everyone to have a great time. The entertainment staff especially created a culture of fun and enjoyment that I have not experienced at other resorts in the Caribbean. We also were married there and I can tell you that their wedding coordinator Terri is an exceptional professional and took care of all of our wishes and expectations superbly. The restaurants are all above the average all inclusive and the drinks are strong and plentiful at all the bars. The only complaint I can speak of is that the location is an hour away from any diving facilities. There is a company that will pick up at the hotel, but only if there are groups of 4 or more divers going. You can take a taxi to go dive on the west side of the island but expect a cost of around $100 US for transportation. Other than that, everything with this hotel exceeds expectations for a 3 star hotel and we will be returning soon.
“Amazing place, excellent staff, highly recommended!”
We were so pleased with our stay at Coconut Bay, the staff were so friendly and helpful. They remembered us and involved us in activates. They went over and above to serve us and make sure we had a great time. This place was 5 minutes from the airport, it had everything you could want and offered great excursions all over the island. There was daily entertainment which was great. The resort was clean, the rooms were well maintained and the food was plentiful and good too! This was a fantastic spot to relax, de-stress and have fun. I would highly recommend it!
“NOT impressed.”
i do not like this hotel. do not book here. i've heard the sandals was better but i'll never be back to this island so i guess i'll never know!
“Lots of Seaweed”
Overall, the hotel was okay, but not really impressive. The room was a little disappointing with the bed, comforter, and shower, but it was adequate. The buffet was okay, but nothing special. The two other restaurants were good, but you have to make reservations the day ahead which ran out quickly...even though the restaurants never seemed too crowded. The resort always had things to do and there are enough pools for kids and adults. The only negative to the beach is that there was way way too much seaweed. Apparently there is a large seaweed bed offshore near that part of the island and they frequently have a lot of it on their beach there. It is very close to the airport, but very far from the main towns or any significant shopping or excursions. Overall, it would be a nice family resort.
“Memories better the more time passes...”
When we arrived at the resort, many of the passengers on our flight were very disappointed. The description on the websites was amazing, but it's just a very ordinary resort that happens to be 5 mins from the airport. The scenery is beautiful, but not as spectacular as the western side of the island. The beach is okay, but lots of seaweed and rocks (never saw more than 10 people in the water). The pool areas are terrific and the evening entertainment was fun (bring bugspray!!!). On the weekends, local St. Lucians come into the resort, so it gets very crowded and waits for food and drinks is long. I highly recommend doing at least one day adventure, but shop around for prices or walk to the beach and turn right and there is bound to be someone who can hook you up for a lot less than the hotel charges (and they were trustworthy). The food is plentiful & good for what it is & I highly recommend the 2 reservation restaurants (service was terrific & I was stunned that Mona Lisa remembered our names &what we liked!). While there, many of us remarked that we flew thousands of miles for something that exists much closer in FL, the Carolinas, etc (except for hills!). However, something strange occurred when we got back, the memories are so much better than what we were thinking at the time. I guess it was the terrific staff, the funny experiences, the international diversity of guests and genuineness of St. Lucians. We probably won't go back, but we don't regret it either.
“decent quality, good for the price”
the hotel was a little dated, the food was OK but overall a nice resort for the bargain price
