The wait staff appeared sad every day, which is tough in paradise.

Excellent, comfortable, friendly resort !!!!!Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Small thing but maybe more music at activity pool area...
Just came back from a week stay at Coconut Bay. We had a great time!!! The staff at this resort is outstanding...they are are very friendly, helpful and engaging. They would go out of their way to help with anything you needed. The food was excellent and varied. There were always many options and the specialized restaurants (Silk, Calabash) were very nice with excellent food! The grill by the pool areas was very handy with quick service! It was very convenient during the day while lounging at the pool (hand-tossed pizzas, hot wings, and chicken sandwiches were my favorites!). Overall the whole experience was great and it's only 5 minutes from the airport!!! I would like to specifically mention Dillan, Oszy, and Big Ted at the lobby bar and Kay at the swim-up bar......they were extremely friendly, funny, made us feel at home!

Great relaxing family vacationPosted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: comfortable and clean with great views
Location: went on a great 1/2 day tour to see a dormant volcano, take a mud bath and a mineral soak and waterfall. Perfect to get to see a little of the island.
The resort, the food, the pools, the entertainment was all fantastic! A perfect place to bring your family and have everyone be happy.

Great vacation, friendly staffPosted Apr 22, 2015
We really enjoyed our stay at Coconut Bay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, both at the main buffet and the restaurants. The rooms were nice in Splash, however we didn't have the little extra touches of towels folded like animals or flower petals left on the bed like a friend of ours staying there at the same time did. We also had an issue with our air conditioning unit leaking water all over the floor. The pool was nice and our kids really enjoyed the swim up bar and water slide. The beach right in front of the hotel had a lot of seaweed, but if you walked a little ways down the beach it was much clearer. I really enjoyed the exercise classes, Vernon was an excellent teacher and very entertaining!

Wonderful for families.Posted Apr 19, 2015
This is on the rough side of the island, so not really a place to hang out at the beach. Too wavy and rough for small kids. But the pools are excellent.

Absolutely wonderful family resort.Posted Apr 11, 2015
One of my best family vacations ever. Tons of stuff for the kids to do. The food was very good. It was very family-friendly without being completely overrun by children.

Okay hotel. Just not what I was expecting.Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Swimming pools. Sun Tracker chairs. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: cleanliness of room's bathroom. Grout between floor tile bad. Very dirty and I am no clean freak. Noisy air conditioning in room.
Location: Close to airport. Can sign up for snorkeling, tours. Visit volcano. Do a mud bath near volcano. Sunset cruise which was fun.
Was an ok resort. Just seemed "aged". Can tell there have been many updates but were things with room that just need attention. Enjoyed the various adult swimming pools. Enjoyed Saturday night entertainment. Two of three restaurants were good. Buffet food okay. Breakfast the best.

Good value -- overall experience good for costPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Size is not overwhelming. Separate Adult area. You can always find a lounge chair-no problem. All rooms have ocean view. Staff is very cordial.
Cons: Lighting level of bulbs in room so one can read at night. More variety of fruit in main Coccounut Walk restaurant.
Location: Location is close to airport - which means, after long flights, you're at the location quickly - 10 minutes.
The resort is obviously an older facility, but the new features added are very nice -- couple lounge platforms are really nice. The staff are always smiling and accommodating -- they try to make the experience very positive and deserve feedback from the management that vacationers are pleased with that -- which can override some of letdowns (such as, hair dryers not working upon arrival). The rooms are nice and everyone has an ocean view. The disappointment with the room is that the lights in the room only provide about 20 footcandles--so you can't really read a book in bed at night. The island electrical output may be why they have low-level bulbs. If one has a Kindle, then it's no problem. Major disappointment is very limited beach--but it's the Atlantic side of the island, so you have to expect that--the Caribbean side is better...but you pay a premium for the better beach/seductive turquoise water. They could improve on the variety of food in the main restaurant, they food in the three sign-up restaurants is adequate; some dishes are very good, some just average....but the overall vacation is very positive...we would come back; the value is good.

Perfect for childrenPosted Mar 28, 2015
I just returned with my 3 children (8,7,5). We had a great time. It's the most child friendly resort I've ever been too. The kids loved the water slides and I couldn't be removed from the lazy river. The food here is also excellent ( if you don't leave here looking slightly pregnant you have an off palate).

Hotel close to the airportPosted Mar 26, 2015
Nice, quite on the adult side. To much seaweed on the beach even though they do try and contain it. I did not like the food!
