Great Honeymoon LocationPosted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: With your own pool in the room there is a very secluded and private feel to the stay, which is perfect for a honeymoon or romantic couples trip.
Location: The beaches Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin are worth the 30 minute drive to get to. More secluded and very beautiful.
My wife and I chose Ladera for our honeymoon and we could not have made a better choice. The room was excellent, the view was amazing and the open air concept made you feel like you were really living in paradise. We loved the plunge pool and spent lots of time just soaking and admiring the view. Our room felt like a small condo, bathroom, lounging chairs and day bed downstairs, changing room, master bath & bed upstairs. Though there is a bar with a live band playing a few nights a week I would not consider Ladera a party destination. It was pretty quite in the evening which was just fine with us, dinners were usually around 2 hours then night caps in the room while enjoying the stars on our patio. Perfect for couples who just want to enjoy each other. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We were well taken care of from the moment of our arrival. They recommend sites to visit and helped with directions. We also enjoyed the restaurant onsite. The food and service were excellent, the menu seemed change every few days so there was never a lack of variety. We did not do a dinner meal plan which seemed to work just fine for us. We did have a breakfast meal plan, the choices included on were very similar to a continental breakfast, bread, yogurt, fruit, granola & cereal. Other options, eggs Benedict, omelettes and such were available at a small additional price. We had afternoon snacks at the bar several times, after 3 pm they serve small plates which we enjoyed.

Beautiful room with great viewsPosted Feb 18, 2015
Cons: Service was terrible. Wouldn't consider going back.
The views were great, the pool in the room was nice, but the shower didn't really work, the service was terrible. Seemed like they were doing us a service by letting us stay there.

Great hotelPosted Feb 6, 2015
Pros: Staff, food, view, room design.
Cons: It's ridiculous that for an $800 room, breakfast is not included and costs another $50.
Having a private pool with a view on the pitons and the ocean is amazing.

Pure serenityPosted Feb 1, 2015
My honeymoon was with great satisfaction. The view is awe striking. At first my husband and I was a little nervous about not having climate control but the window free open wall to the Piton twin mountains provided great fresh air and even a nice breeze. Not wild animals, insect, or frogs annoyance. The facility is very well maintained with any essentials to ward off any concerns. Staff is awsome friendly and very much accommodating. Dasheens restaurant is great in service and a great atmosphere but expensive. Ok ok great experience i could go on forever about how pleasing it was just Go!

Beautiful resort. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The restaurant, Dasheene, was amazing and had a great wine list. Amazing view. Great drinks at the bar.

Beware the batsPosted Jan 20, 2015
The property and rooms are magnificent. However we had bats fly around our room at night and had to check out after only 3 days despite a 1-week paid reservation.

Picture perfect paradisePosted Nov 19, 2014
My husband and I recently stayed at Ladera while on our honeymoon and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming including the owner, Holly, who we ran into several times. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt like we we had the resort to our selves which really made it feel like our own slice of paradise. The food was outstanding, although a bit expensive but definitely worth it. And of course, the best part of our stay was our room and the magnificent view of the piton mountains. My jaw literally dropped when we stepped into our room for the first time. We were so transfixed with the view that we hardly left our room. The private plunge pool was great, refreshing but not too cool. We didn't have a problem with bugs, barely saw any aside from the moths at night if you left the lights on too long. The frogs are loud at night but that never bothered us. You get used to the sounds of the forest pretty quickly. Overall, we were very sad to leave at the end of our stay and highly recommend this resort especially for anyone who loves being surrounded by nature.
