“Perfect place for a romantic honeymoon”
We wanted a quiet and relaxed honeymoon and that's exactly what we received at Rendezvous. This resort is beautiful and clean and the service was outstanding.
“Relaxing, Unique Resort”
For our honeymoon we wanted an all-inclusive resort that was relatively quiet, without large crowds, and without kids. Rendezvous fit the bill entirely and did not disappoint. The food was delicious! Every meal was a little different, and every night the dinner had a different theme, so we never got bored with the options and didn't feel the need to search around for anything else to eat. We stayed in a Verandah Suite which was very comfortable and had a nice, large standing shower. The air conditioning was excellent, because of the tile floors it cooled quickly and stayed cool. The first night we were upgraded to a Seaside Suite and that had a massive bathroom with two sinks and a tub. Both rooms had US and European sockets. There weren't as many bugs as we'd anticipated, though I came back with a few bites. Reception was helpful setting up taxis, and they were always prompt (even when picking us up from the local market - we set a time to meet and without having to call the driver was there). There was no wifi, and the internet was only accessible at a single computer in the reception room for a nominal fee, so we used it only for checking email once a day. The activities were updated on a board by the Terrace Restaurant, broken down hour by hour, and included both sunrise and sunset yoga, archery, beach volleyball, beach cricket, ping pong, snorkeling and scuba trips, and many more. The spa was very relaxing, worth the extra cost. All in all we were spoiled!
“I wish I could go back!”
Over all we had a fun, relaxing, romanatic and pleasant stay, all staf treat us great, we had a few days with rain, so they took a lot of extra care for the guests. It was Christmas so they had special events for those days, they were great!!! I would like to go back some day!
“Rendezvous in St Lucia-- go there!! you will not be disappointed!”
This hotel is amazing! The staff are very personable and make sure you have everything you need! We were even assigned our own on-island representative to coordinate any activities we wanted to do and to plan our departure taxi back to the airport--totally stress free. The food was beyond amazing: Authentic and delicious. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the variety...you really get to taste the island. Serenity-- if you love to relax this is the place. Every day and night the hotel has free activities that you can go to if you choose. For instance we went on a bike tour of the capital and went to the marketplace to do some shopping. You can participate in archery, pilates, volleyball and much more. We went on a catamaran cruise one day and got to cruise the beautiful coast, see the volcano, visit the cocoa plantation and have an authentic creole meal. Totally worth it! After the cruise we got to see many of the other hotels on the island (as our bus dropped off others before us)....hands down, I would say that the Rendezvous is one of the nicest, well put together hotels on the island. If you are expecting lone white sand beaches with gentle turquoise water lapping the shore, then St Lucia is not the place for you (we expected to see the tranquil carribean that is trademark).St Lucia has beautiful blue waters and the rendezvous has an excellent beach that produces waves, but think "bays." All in all this place is well worth the money.
“Great getaway!”
I did quite a bit of research before choosing the Rendezvous, and was pleased with the generally positive feedback. We were traveling without kids, preferred more intimate settings, and weren't looking for opulence. We were greeted with the perfect combination of friendliness, comfort, and relaxation. St. Lucia is a beautiful island, and the Rendezvous was an excellent ambassador for its people and beauty. The food was excellent and varied, the drinks were available, and the water was amazing. We played some volleyball, did a lot of reading, did some sailing, and just relaxed. That's what it's all about, right? Great time. Great place. Would love to go back.
“Rendevous - FANTASTIC”
The Rendevous Resort was absolutely wonderful! Food was excellent, beach was good and our beach side room was marvellous. I would advise anyone to pay that little bit extra to get a beachside room - it was lovely to be able to walk out the door and be on the beach within seconds. The staff were extrememly courteous and helpful in every way, and very friendly too.
“STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE”
The buffets (breakfast, lunch & dinner) were awful. Same food every day: chicken, beef, & fish served with different sauces. Their one restaurant - the Trysting Place, did have excellent food, but has very limited seating, so if you do decide to stay here - make reservations for every night as soon as you arrive. The hotel is a bit run down, no water pressure and has a variety of bugs even in the rooms - bring bug spray! The serving staff are wonderful/ but the reception & management staff have an "I can't be bothered" attitude. Excursions to avoid: Brig Unicorn: overcrowded, food inedible, not in any way romantic as billed; spend your money elsewhere. Catamaran Day Sail: the sail was great, but the waterfall visit was underwhelming; the “volcano” was horrid – it’s been dormant since the 1700’s, so it’s actually a sulfur pit; the smell is indescribable (a barrel of rotten eggs left out in the heat) and the plantation lunch was worse than the hotel. We have visited many hotels on many islands and have always enjoyed the experience – we would not return to this hotel even if it was free!
“Unbelievable Place”
This was my boyfriend and I first stay out of the U.S. so I really have nothing to compare it to but overall we were both truly amazed. It is a 3.5 star hotel but the property is very well maintained (every morning workers were out sweeping, etc.) and the rooms are nice as well. The food at the buffet is very good, we were always seated right away with our chairs pulled out and napkins placed on our lap by the staff. The staff were outstanding, they knew our names and we knew their's, they also mingle with you and even sit down and have meals with you. For the most part all the people were very friendly and we made some friends. The planes were not a bother at all. The beach is not private so there are locals down the way and some kids inthe water but it didn't bother us. It is a bit of a drive from the airport so we took a helicopter on our departure which was definitely worth it! I cannot ! really say anything negative about this place except when we had our massages they were doing hammering and drilling for some renovating which made the massage unrelaxing but we informed them and they left a bottle of champagne and apology card in our room. No need to really go outside of the resort unless you want to shop. Piano bar is open until last couple leaves and that was nice because we didn't have to worry about going outside for nightlife. Also, ice melts very quickly in the drinks so ask for double shots or even just straight shots.
“Could be better...”
The hotel was decent. For the price, it could have been better. AC did not work very well which made it uncomfortable due to the humidity. Room also had very little cold water pressure. Also had ants in the room. Overall it was pretty good...restaurants, food and entertainment made up for it.
“Rendezvous”
Excellent experience during our 3 day stay at the Rendezvous. I had an initial concern upon arriving at the property, as is in very close proximity to the downtown area of the capital city of Castries, and the entrance is literally across the street from the end of the runway of the smaller St. Lucia airport. However, my concerns were quickly alleviated. Also, the airport only had a few takeoffs and landings, primarily during the mid-day timeframe. The staff, food, and amenities were all up to par and as advertised. There are some vendors that wander around the property a bit, some times coming up to you on your private patio, or in the pool area. However, if you voiced "no interest", they respected that and left you alone. Also, since the beach in front of the resort is public, there is a fair amount of foot traffic from locals.....which actually adds to the experience. A few are vendors, but again, they are respectful. The food was very good, and readily available. While we didn't participate in any of the planned activities, there appeared to be a good variety available daily for those that wished to participate. In summary, this was an excellent resort, and a good change of pace from other, much larger all inclusive resorts on the island. It is very intimate, with only 100 rooms. I would estimate that occupancy was only 50% while we were there. I would definitely recommend to others.
