I'll be backPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: The location, the staff, the food and the views from the restaurant
Cons: rooms could be updated, but were clean and comfortable
Location: Gros Islet Fish Fry Friday which is a ten minute drive away, Cosol Tours and the shopping malls in Rodney Bay
Conveniently located in Rodney Bay and overlooking the best beach in St Lucia. All staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.

Majestic!Posted Nov 10, 2013
I had read a few bad reviews and was a bit worried, but booked it anyways because the price was so right. It is perfect, beautiful big king bed, had welcome written in flowers !! the staff is amazingly friendly. My ferry came in late, and I missed lunch, so the front desk called the chef and asked him to make me fish and salad.. it was so good! Rooms are very clean, everything works perfectly, TV, Ac, fridge. I'm from Hawaii, so was really surprised how nice this hotel is... (usually hard to beat Hawaii hotels :)) Rodney bay, I think is the most beautiful white sand beach on the island.. nice to swim, jet ski, sail.. and the hotel is beachfront.. Nice town just a few blocks away for expresso and some modern needs.. very safe area, lots of local family visitors, French, and Americans.. loved it!!

Lovely hotel right by the beachPosted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: All hotel staff
Cons: I think the food was ok, there could of been more of a variety for breakfast. Our favorite was lunchtime sandwich station.
Location: Lovely location right by the beach, complimentary non motor water sports from Rex hotel customers and a good variety of motor water sports.
St Lucian by Rex is a lovely hotel. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon when getting married on the Island and was very lucky to be upgraded to a sea view room. All staff was superb, they were so friendly and helpful. I can not say one bad thing about the service. We was welcomed by lovely receptionists and the restaurant staff was so nice. Having our meals by the beach day and night was really relaxing and romantic. At night we did have a good nights rest as it's very quiet compared to other hotels we stayed at Rodney bay. There was not much to do in the hotel itself but was nice to chill. Our room was nice but a bit on the small side. The room was nice but not as comfortable as i expected, but that did not spoil our time there. Rex had a great variety of shops and a lovely Market place where you can get all your souvenirs from, the ladies there was so nice and friendly we had a great laugh bartering with them. Do get your gifts from there as they are much cheaper then from main town Castries itself. Overall it was a pleasant stay and i would recommend this hotel.

The Rex is well worth the trip!Posted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
While the rooms are a little dated, they are basically clean and mostly comfortable. The reasons to go to the Rex is that the staff is unbelievably incredibally wonderful! From the time you walk in, the way they great you, provide a drink, and just their total friendliness, and willingness to help! They are wonderful!!! The front desk clerk offered to charge are phones and computers since they only have 220 electric in the rooms. The bartender is the nicest bartender you'll ever meet with a lot of history to tell you. The main lobby is very nice. Then, the best, is that the beach outside the Rex is about the best beach on St.Lucia. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I will say, if you can afford it, go to Sandals. But for a cheeper option with wonderful people and an increadible beach, go to the Rex.

Great Hospitality.Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: The hotel itself needs a facelift but it is well kept. The facilities are kept clean but I recommend that maintenance of the facilities could improve.
Cons: Maintenance of the building , the vending areas, the laundry facilities and of course introduction of live entertainment.
Location: There is so much to do but I just enjoyed the beach and sea activities.
The hospitality and genuine love of the staff were the best part of my visit. I felt like royalty. I certainly will be back next year.

Not suitable for Business TravellerPosted May 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is not suitable for business travellers. The internet doesn't work in the rooms. The bathtub was too small and in my room specifically leaked. This made it interesting to standing in the bathroom after a shower since water was all over the floor. The iron was also outside of the room on the second floor (not in the room, which is a first for me). I had to press my shirts in the hall. The view and location however are ok. I would however not recommend this hotel.

Great location in Rodney Bay for less moneyPosted Apr 4, 2013
Pros: The beach, location, staff
Cons: bathroom in room
The hotel is in a beautiful location and on a wonderful beach. There are lots of restaurants nearby as well. We didn't do all inclusive and we liked being able to visit many of the local restaurants. We did eat at the restaurant once and the food was okay, but not amazing. The common areas are kept up pretty nicely, and they try to present the resort rooms nicely with flowers and such when you arrive, but the rooms need to be updated (more-so the bathrooms).
